In the past couple of years, there's been a couple of 1-16 games than have been fairly close until the last couple of minutes - more than just halftime Ithink.

It will definitely happen one year.

Syracuse hangs on for a 72-65 win. They got late points on fouls. Was closer then a 7 point game.

2 terrible calls given to Syracuse. I don't understand the out of bounds call.

With the refs calling the lane violation and the out of bounds call wrong there at the end, UNC Asheville should have had the ball down by one with 34 seconds left. Instead, Syracuse had the ball up by three at that same point.

Incredibly bad officiating at the end of that game, that crew needs to be sent home. Neither call should have been even slightly difficult for an experienced official in position, which is exactly what we had. Absolutely disgraceful.

I picked Asheville in one of my espn brackets just for old time sakes and Melo being gone for the orange......just about!

The higher seed has wone every game thus far.

same feeling here I don't get that call. This game was much closer than Syracuse would have thought it would be ASH put up quite a battle.

John Adams, head of officiating for men's officiating, said refs missed call on out of bounds play.

As a HUGE Gonzaga Bulldogs fan, It was agonizing just watching TSN and more specifically Sherri Ford Talk/Read about Gonzaga. She seemed to have zero familiarity with the topic, unprepared and overall vague in regards to their match up with West Virginia. It was amateur reporting at it's worst.....AND boom goes the dynamite.

Why does TSN have you force a square peg through a round hole. There is no shame in accepting that they are not the experts in all things sports. Either pay and pick up the CBS feed, or have just Leo Rautins and Jack Armstrong talk about the games and tournament.

It is not necessary to have a "Live" reporter from the Game when it is evident they have no idea what is going on. I would expect this from Sportsnet, but If i was affiliated with TSN, I would be embarrassed.

The call on the free throw was even worse. At least the out of bounds play was at high speed, that violation call was so obviously wrong and it occurred in what is essentially a dead ball situation.

Couldn't agree more. That was painful to listen to. Favorite part of growing up in Alberta was the amount of Zags fans that were spurned by that elite 8 run and the Slipper still Fits.

New Mexico-Long Beach State has been the best game today. 1 point differential with 4 minutes left.

Yet, Adams said that the call on the free throw was good.

My guess what happened is similar to when a Linebacker gets called on an offside when he gets to the QB way to quickly.

Since the player who rebounded the ball came from outside the arc, the official probably felt there was no other way he could have come in to the paint and grab the board unless there was a lane violation?

For the last 20 min that is the only "defense" i can come up with for the ref. The Out of Bounds play may be more of a wrong call instead of bad call. There could have been a foul on the play, but if they didnt call the foul, it was definitely off the Syracuse player's hand.

I was too young to remember the Elite 8 run, Didnt really follow the March Madness at that point anyway, I just always remembered Krem 2 always covering the Zags games. My loyalties were developed during the Blake Stepp and Ronnie Turiaf era.

I've been sporting my Adam Morrison Zags jersey all day today, the kids in my class were like "Mr. Morris, your last name is spelt wrong on that jersey"

Blake Stepp and that last second shot, in my mind one of the at least top 10 all time March Madness games vs Arizona. There's been a great run of Zags players to follow with Turiaf, Morrison, Stepp, Dickau, Daye and now hopefully now Pangos. As much as I hope to see another Sweet 16 appearance, this team is so young and has such a bright future, this is just the tip of the iceberg.

No upsets so far. 8/8 in my bracket so far as I am sure most people are too.

How mad are you with them playing WVU an hour away from Morgantown?

TSN talking about college basketball is equivalent to morning radio hosts talking out the flames. Totally bugs me. Sherman (?) is okay.

The Zags getting such an awful location in the 1st round to play in just means the Zags are wearing the hat they look best in, the underdog.

How about Laurent Rivard from Harvard who is a Canadian, put his team on his back and nearly pulled off the upset.
