Due to severe weather that has made completing it over the last few days impossible. What would you have had them do? Put workers out in incredibly unsafe weather conditions? Do the work in conditions that likely meant it wasn't done properly? It's like you're hunting for something to complain about.

I would have them complete the stadium earlier than a week before it opens

I'm not complaining about the rain, I said before that I think it was a huge waste of money for what they spent and the outside especially looks terrible

the water getting through just shows how poorly planned it was, they didn't expect rain in vancouver at the end of september??????

Construction wasn't delayed because it was raining, it was delayed because the storm that hit was pretty intense. Did you even read the article you posted or is this just a drive by? As for the timing, it's not at all atypical for relatively significant but not essential portions of a stadium to be completed in the hours leading up to opening.

But I get it, you hate the stadium so you'll find a way to complain either way.

If you think a stadium leaking 3 days before it's supposed to have it's grand opening is normal your standards for it are pretty low

The stadium here in calgary leaks everytime it (when, which is rare, its usually sunny) rains, we have no standards...

Considering the welds on the roof panels aren't finished I would be pretty stunned if it didn't leak, and I'm not at all surprised that those welds aren't done. That would naturally be a task completed near the end of the project, it's non essential to the actual functioning of the stadium, poses no safety threat and doesn't impact on the ability to allow a full crowd to enter.

Look at that, a similar issue at Cowboys stadium was addressed after the stadium had been open: "According to Birdair, the reheating and re-welding of the seams is part of the stadium's final "punch list" — a list of "minor" issues that need to be addressed. A Birdair spokesman told News 8 that the issues are typical in large projects like this."

But hey, what would those guys know about what's typical in this type of project, they're only experts on it.

Here's a shot from the inside taken a couple hours ago. Looks pretty slick to me. The glass panelling that goes around will allow a lot of light to come in which will be sweet for an afternoon game next year and beyond.

That does look pretty cool inside. Good retrofit.

Agree that the outside look is a bit off with the spikes in the air. Oh well it's unique trait for the stadium that can grow into being an iconic landmark for Vancouver; like the Saddledome is for Calgary.

They should have gone for a bigger TV screen then Cowboy Stadium. Just to piss Jerry Jones off.

I think it's going to be an incredible facility.

What's with the different coloured seats though? Does it form some sort of coherent pattern inside the stadium? From those pics, it looks like they just threw around random coloured chairs.
