Bah I meant Bobby smith though I met gainey at an event once.
The worst thing about the smith flight was I originally didn't recognize him. I sat down wearing my mooseheads jersey and he says "you know I used to own that team". Had a nice cOnversation with him

In University I made a pretty distinctive abstract scupture in plaster...a few years later I move to Calgary and the landlord has a rock in his birdbath in a very very similar shape. Coincidence? Probably.

OK, here's mine. Happened years ago.
I was visiting England as part of a high school trip. (Yes- that long ago.) Our accomodations in London were terrible, so I called up an uncle and stayed with him. Every day I took the train into London, and then bought a day pass for the tubes and British Rail within London. It always cost me £4.30.
One day the lady charges me £4.10. I think it is odd, but maybe it is cheaper on a Saturday or something. As it turned out the day pass she sold me was only good for the Tubes, not British Rail. I continue on my way, and take my British Rail train as I always do. When I am getting off the train, the ticket checkers are there and I show them my pass. Of course my pass is no good, so they start writing up the ticket.
I plead my case; explaining I'm from out of the country. They ask where I am from (Canada) and the one guy starts asking me what city. (Winnipeg at the time.) He then says that name sounds familliar, and asks if I know his cousin Gord; who is also from Canada. This is before the "Office Glenn" commercials, but I still play along. I say "I know a few Gords- what does he look like, etc?
The guy with the cousin tells me he is going to Canada next month to visit his cousin and says "tell you what- you buy a round for me and Gord when I'm there, and I will forget about the ticket." I naturally agree- we shake hands, and I say "see you next month in Canada!"
I get home, and one day at work I start telling my co-workers this story. My manager overhears, comes over and says "I have a cousin who works for British Rail- he is coming to visit next month."
My manager's name was Gord; and both he and the British Rail worker were East Indian. That was my moment of realization. And yes, I did buy them a round when the cousin came to visit.

Early, around 3 or 4 AM one morning I drove from Beddington to Midnapore, down Centre ST and out Macleod Tr., without hitting a red light.

I find that the real weird thing is that you know an East Indian named Gord! All my friends have East Indian names...

I made this post in the funny/cool picture thread.
http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showpos...ostcount=26131
10 Minutes later, a customer with the last name Dick, walked into my office randomly without an appointment looking for info to buy out his lease.
When I searched his name, the first name that came up, was Andrew Dyck.
Showed him the thread, thinking I'd get a lol from him... And he said ,"I lurk that board, you're a dick." Then he laughed, and said "Seriously, you are."
