Stevie Ray Vaughan died WAY too early. There's no denying his talent.

Vidal thinks Kennedy was a horrible President, did Broadbent think of Douglas as horrible? I doubt that. Or did you not watch the video and think it was just Vidal praising Kennedy?

I found this video, so it seems your reply was of the latter, lazy kind:

The mention of the seriously over rated Stevie Ray Vaughan reminded of me of the guitarist I miss that most seem to have forgotten, Duanne Allman

Only because of the disease that killed him. Had he not been a heroin addict who knows what potential could've been reached.

I have imagined him singing on Jerry Cantrell's solo work....it would have been awesome.

Cliff Burton, left us way too soon and was legitimately amazing.

I can't believe Charles Hardin Holley AKA Buddy Holly, has yet to be mentioned in this discussion yet.

Thought to be one of the single most influential people in early Rock and Roll. He only recorded 3 albums while alive and was really only successful for a year and a half before "The Day the Music Died"

Mozart is actually a really good one. The man did many great things, and probably had more than few hummable pieces up his sleeve.

That's a big sleeve, get a small quartet up there easy.

These sources suffer from the same issues as all ancient texts, but there's enough writing that pops up at more or less the same time that corroborates the existence of a guy named Jesus who was executed by Romans, and that the aftermath of that event caused some issues.

Now, it's far less likely that he was actually God in human form, but he was around at some point.

I'll round out my previous musical (Mozart) and political (MLK) nominations with a sporting one: Ayrton Senna.

No one can argue he died past his prime.

I'm going with a drumming theme. My two favourite percussion artists. Whether you were a fan of their music or not, both were absolute masters behind the kit.

John Bonham: 1948-1980 (32 years old)
Led Zeppelin

Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan: 1981-2009 (28 years old)
Avenged Sevenfold
