I don't think anyone is arguing against that. The FA just handled it poorly by not releasing all the details right away and basing a large part of the punishment on the hearsay part. If they would have just said 8 games for what he admitted to then nobody would have an issue. I also agree that Liverpool handled themselves poorly with their reaction to the whole thing.

Isn't that exactly what happened?
He admitted to making the comments and they based their judgment on this, everything else was used to refute his defence on the basis of substandard quality.

No, the FA said right in that novel they released that the number of times Suarez allegedly used the word was an important determining factor in their decision.

Maybe he should work on telling the truth and not changing his story everytime and then he will get the benefit of the doubt. Suarez and Dalglish look like incredible losers coming out of this one.

I wasn't arguing against that, I was answering a question about what the FA based their decision on. As I said before, I think Suarez, Liverpool and the FA have all handled this situation poorly when it could have been handled much more effectively by all parties involved. Even Evra's reputation has taken a hit after this.

The FA based their decision on Evra's version of events which they found to be believable due to be being consistant throughout with no inconsistancies from other witnesses (Giggs, Ref).
As opposed to ......
the Liverpool gongshow. First you have Kuyt making a grade A clown out of himself and establishing himself as a class A liar (or a complete moronic dumbass) in his attempt to cover up for Suarez or stir up against Evra. Fortunately, he hadn't the brain cells to realise that being "absolutely certain" that he heard a conversation between two people might be contradicted by ummm, you know .... the two people that were having the conversation.
Then you have Suarez who attempted to make a mockery of the whole process by attempting one of the dumbest lies (the pinching) in sporting history. Special mention has to go to the Liverpool Legal team that allowed this amazing bit of fabrication to be included in his witness statement and not considering that they might be cross-examined on it. L....O....L at the pathetic effort to explain wdf he was on about when questioned on it. ummmm ..... poor drafting of the statement!
Quite simply the FA had no option but to believe Evra (again, consistant, not contradicted, believable) when the other option was to consider that LFC (including their legal team) were being honest and consistant in their approach to the hearing. (see Kuyt and Suarez's lies, Daglish's contradiction of Suarez). That they took this sort of gameplan (lie their way out of it) into a hearing of this magnitude, I'm guessing didn't sit well with the FA.
Why aren't they appealing? Well .... what grounds have they got to appeal on? Daglish has already contradicted Suarez, and their other two witnesses (Kuyt and Suarez) are already proven liars.
Don't forget Man U and Evra have so far been quiet on this whole affair but I wouldn't be surprised if one of the first topics brought up behind closed door meetings of the two clubs is a request for a full public apology from Liverpool to Evra coupled with a public retraction of the post verdict statement on their website or else they'll be legal proceedings for libel.
To summarize. Evra made the claim. Suarez defended against it. The defence was riddled with inconsistencies, contradictions and blatant lies. In other words the defence = zero.
Or .... it was a conspiracy!
The FA investigated this as fully and thoroughly as possible, even bringing in the services of a QC for the hearing. Not much more they could have done.

Ya he was a fantastic signing for us, and he had a great game today. It must be exciting for him to go up against Cardiff City in the final. Hopefully this can give us a bit of momentum for the rest of the season.

De Gea
Lindegaard has to be the number one right now. De Gea has to work extremely hard on his play when dealing with corners and crosses, otherwise he won't make it in the Premier League.
Congrats to Liverpool, they deserved the win. I'm not too sad though, it's "just" the FA Cup. I'm just glad there wasn't a draw, because yet another game would have been bad for our already depleted lineup. Concentrate on the PL 100% now.

The liability that is Andy Carroll was arguably Liverpool's MOTH today. He lead the line well and set up the winning goal for Kuyt. Yes he is very easy to malign but today, at least, he was not deserving of such vitriolic criticism.
Thrilled to beat both Manc clubs this week (City on agg) Even better that LFC won today when they were not the better team. It's usually the other way around. Sweet.

Agreed, I really like seeing different teams getting a shot.
I dont know if Liverpool can take Brighton. Sure, City and United are no problem, but this team have become notorious slackers against lesser competition.
Trust me, I'm pretty sure they're going to up against it against Cardiff in the Carling.

Right back in it with a bit of luck. They really haven't been playing poorly today, just a bad result in the first.

Yep, Villa were lucky to be up 2-0 and Arsenal dominated after the break
Alan Hutton is really bad, and Darren Bent going to ground in his own box is always going to be a terrible idea
gonna go out on a limb and say that with their current matchups and the likelihood of winning them there are some warm balls in the QF draw and we see Liverpool/Spurs/Chelsea/Arsenal in some form of Semi-Finals

Holy crap but did he look like an unsure bag of nerves. But I gotta agree with Ferguson in that he was bunched out by his own players for the first.
Evra badly caught out on the winning goal.

I'll over look the 'lesser competition' jibe and go straight to this quote:
"Brighton gave Kenny Dalglish's Liverpool a scare before losing 2-1 in the Carling Cup in September, but the Seagulls have not been beaten in three FA Cup visits to Anfield."
Just like 1983, first Newcastle then Liverpool.
Heard something funny come out of a Sunderland forum - goes something like this:
"Brighton has announced a new sponsorship deal with Fairy Liquid (dish soap) as they have proven good at removing scum from cups."
Quite possibly could apply to Liverpool as well. I'm sure chris_yk will appreciate it at the very least.
