Welcome! Such an awesome place to live IMO - paying for centre ice to get Flames games is about the only drawback for me .
August long is pretty crazy here but luckily my folks live out in the sticks on an acreage and are gone for the weekend so I'm driving out to steal their place for the weekend to get away from the crowds in town.

I haven't seen Transformers 3, but there's no way it can be nearly as bad. Captain America might be the worst movie I've ever seen.

Did the same drive on Friday. It was quite nice. Aside from the few people that decide to go 10 under the speed limit.

I used to rush out of town with the masses every July and August weekend but after delays from accidents, tons of traffic, busy vacation spots, busy camp sites etc. I now just stay in the city for long weekends. Relaxing vacations turned into stressful nightmares.
Use other weekends/weeks off for summer vacations.

As depressing as it was, I spend the weekend recovering from food poisoning, and decided that the new job that I just took, just isn't for me, so I'm in the office waiting for my boss to show up so that I can resign my position.

I agree. The whole weekend the weather was just fantastic.
I spent the weekend mostly on my ass. Hit the driving range on Friday and Sunday to work on my swing, saw a movie Friday night with the girlfriend, went to Calaway Park on Saturday with a few friends, went on a long bike ride on Sunday, and then played a round of golf on Monday at River Spirit.
As ####ty as the weather is in this city 9 1/2 months a year, it is usually perfect from July 1st to mid-September.

Another great weekend at Big Valley Jamboree! Kinda sucked Toby keith cancelled, but the rest of the performers were amazing. Came home with a nice little battle wound too. 46 stitches down my chest from a broken bottle being under a slip n slide that I decided to be the first to go down. Chicks dig stitches and scars though!

Friday: Me and the wife took her brother out for a birthday dinner at Craft Beer Market and then some gelato in Kensington.
Saturday: Slayer/Rob Zombie show at the dome... awesome.
Sunday: Hangover!
Monday: House cleaning, actually managed to get all the floors cleaned and got our kitchen a little better organized.
