Even with his non-import status, I thought he was in toughest to grab a roster spot.

Wow, I am surprised of John Bender's release. The Stamps were very high on him in the off season. Zac Carlson just doesn't look good last night. I guess missing those days in the training camp really hurt his chances. I thought Marko Mitchell will make it as a backup but I guess Jake Allen beat him out. I was actually impressed with Allen last night against the Eskimos not because of his receiving ability but blocking as well. Deon Murphy is a skilled and fast receiver/returner but I noticed he got scared last season after getting hit and missed a game. One thing I hate was when he admitted he is always looking for the sidelines instead of going in the middle whenever he does return. So long Murphy. McNeal, Mitchell just lost out on the numbers game. Way too many good import receivers for Stamps. Matt Walker was in a tough competition as a FB against Cote and St. Pierre and Cornish for non-import tailback. I guess I don't have any complaint on Huf's move today. I am sure some of these guys(released) will be sign somewhere else. I am glad Huf kept Coker. He looks good and is a total opposite of power RB Joffrey Reynolds.

Sounds like Michael Bishop could be the new QB in town come Monday.

Keep all these factors in mind (and understand that Cody Pickett turned down an offer because he’s got a baby at home in Boise, along with a growing insurance business) when speculating on candidates.
Steve Gachette was cut to keep Sinopoli. End of discussion. Daryll Clark was cut to bring Gachette to camp. Enough said.
The likes of Chris Leak and Zac Champion would almost surely cost too much.
Taking all of that into account, you can bet the Stamps will undoubtedly have an interest in Michael Bishop, and I have a good feeling he’ll be the man taking snaps with Burris and Sinopoli at Monday morning’s practice.

Please no Bishop.
I would trust Sinopoli or even one of our back-up linemen before Bishop.

It is being confirmed all over twitter now, Bishop to the Stamps, at least until Tate is back healthy.

There has to be a better option than Bishop. If Hank goes down the Stamps are screwed. Not that there is any good scenario if Hank gets hurt bit Bishop has proven to be terrible time and time again.

There has to be a better option out there then Bishop. If Burris is hurt even for a quarter we will be in a huge hole. I don't think I have seen a dumber QB in the CFL in a while.

Problem is that you have to find a QB with CFL experience that can step in right away and run a basic CFL offense. Bishop has been around long enough and played on enough teams that he's probably the best candidate availble. If anything he throws a really nice deep ball so if he has to go in you run the ball on 1st down mixed with play action and keep him to short and deep balls. Its the intermediate passes he has problems with. I think he can come in and finish off a game fine but if he has to start and the opposition gets time to prepare for him that's when it's going to be difficult sledding.

Yes Bishop sucks but he's coming in to be the 3rd stringer so chances are he won't see a snap unless disaster strikes.
Wouldn't worry about it too much - I'm excited to see what Sinopoli can do in backup action.

I would guess its almost guaranteed, at least for this week. Bishop isn't expected to arrive until Wednesday at the earliest. Not enough time to learn the playbook imo.

IF Burris gets hurt it wont matter who goes in anways...Sinopoli or <fill in the blank> QB wont help...the Stamps will be in a world of hurt.
It may improve the running game though.

Agreed.
Tate's injury took away an advantage we probably had over every other team in that we had a potential #1 QB on the sidelines ready to play if Burris got hurt. Bishop as 2nd stringer is pretty much comparable to most other team's backups. Now they are in everyone else's boat in that they cannot afford an injury to their #1 QB.
Edmonton - Joseph
BC - Jackson
Sask - Dinwiddie
Winnipeg - Brink / Elliott
Toronto - Jyles
Montreal - McPherson
Hamilton - Porter
Sucks to be Winnipeg though as they have the most precarious position in terms of Backup QBs seeing as though they are most likely to have to use them.

Matt Dunnigan and Dan Dierdorf both picked Calgary to win the Grey Cup. Take that for what you will.

They are both correct. We should win the west about 15-16 wins, and win the Grey Cup in BC. We just need to stay focused throughout the season, and all should be well. One of the most talented teams I have seen in a long time.

^^15-16 wins? WOW! I'm thinking more like a 13-5 season maybe 12-6. They have been talented the last bunch of years but seem to have troubles between their ears. I don't think it helps that the Lions are going to be much better imo, in fact, I think they take 2nd in the division from the Riders this year.
1. Stamps 2. Lions 3. Riders 4. Esks
East-1. Als 2. Cats 3. Argos 4. Bombers

You will be sorely disappointed if those are your expectations....for any team.
Most of the very best CFL teams ever put on the field don't win 15-16 games in a year.
I think 12-13 wins is much more realistic and in playoffs as we all know anything can happen.
