Oh crap, don't question the man's musical knowledge. He plays guitar on the corner of 17th and 4th for a living and probably owns a bootleg copy of "Cuts Like a Knife" in which Mr. Adams ironically misspells his own name.

The hook, as I understand it, is the part of a song that grabs ya... the part that gets stuck in your head. Nate would often sing the catchy-as-hell chorus part of songs... hence his reputation.
