Yah that song is a classic, my favorite trance album has got to be oceanlab's album that came out I think 2 years ago called Sirens of the Sea, and my favorite song off that album was the Marton Roth vocal remix of Miracle.
As well I totally forgot Roger Shah with his balearic trance, of which my favorite set is his Asot 350 set.
Then more of a progressive trance feel
I could go on forever in a thread like this with almost any genre in electronic music, I have way to much of it

Alright, some more suggestions. Listen to Hybrid! They do progressive breaks, which some will sometimes say intermingles with drum'n'bass, but they have a very distinctive style you can't miss. Generally what makes them stand out is their percussion, and their liberal use of orchestras.
Their most famous song, Finished Symphony:
My favorite song of theirs, Just for Today:
A song from their newest album, Disappear Here. This one is called Break My Soul:
Some other notables from their new album include Can You Hear Me, Original Sin, and Disappear Here (the title track of the album).
Holy crap am I going to download so much music tonight.
Here's the track that first got me into electronic music. I can still remember seeing this video played on Much Music when I was about sixteen or seventeen. Definitely a life-changing moment.

listening to the Bloody Beetroots I might suggest trying to find Adam Freelands 2008 essential mix. Great mix of electronica and breaks and might be closer to what you are looking for than what I have been posting.

While I definitely like that style of music please continue to post. I know what I like once I hear it but I'm trying to get a nice wide range of styles. Can't tell if I like it or not if I don't get a chance to listen.
Plus even if I don't like it, it would be nice to gain a better understanding of the difference between the seemingly endless genres of electronica.
my buddy found this song by a guy/artist/group named voodof or voohdof or something like that, it was a really mellow beat and I want to find this artist but I just can't find the right name because I know the spelling is off. Anyone help me out here?
Thanks to everyone and their suggestions! I'm a big electronic music fan and always love listening to new artists. Some great new and old school stuff in here!
House - Jazz, Funk, Hip-Hop samples used and usually a trip-up / swing beat (boom shh ka sh kaboom shh ka shh boom...)
Trance - Very strait forward 4/4 beat structure (boom shh kaa shh boom shh kaa shh..) Very effects based melodies.
Techo - I find Techno to be the "everything-else" category. Still 4/4, but the emphasis in my opinion is based more on what cool sounds you can use to fill up the beat. Very few techno tracks have a "melody" and their loops tend to last a little longer. Certainly not for everyone.
Dubstep - I think this is technically a 2/4 beat where the drums are half the tempo of everything else. There's also the "dubstep-wobble" that is used in the bass which sounds like a "WOW"
Hope this helps. More to come if needed.

Reason: spelling
