Say he keeps improving, as he has been so far in Calgary, and they can sign him for something like 2 X $4M, how is that bad?
Next year isn't the only year that he can be traded.

Yeah, he’s 28 and with his spotty couple years no one is signing him for a long term deal. He’d be happy to get a show me I think.

Two years at $4 million per? Calgary's all over that. If he keeps improving and excels, good luck getting him at that price.
