This pre qualifying segment with Max where he explains his opening China lap in detail with Di Resta is great. I love his kind of stuff. Having him explain his thinking and the lines he takes in detail.

That was an entertaining race. Good for Ferrari. Stroll can't catch a break.
Agreed. Decent race and good/lucky strategy by Ferrari for a change. Poor Stroll, no idea what Sainz was thinking after leaving the pits. Stroll was looking really good on those new tires as well.
I was away, so just got caught up. Both very good races. Poor Lance, that was a rough exit! Hopefully he gets a full race in Spain, as they tested there and he may feel a bit more comfortable. Sochi first though!
Interestingly, I was looking at the results and for Australia and Bahrain, 7 of the top 10 drivers finished in the exact same position, With Max and Daniel swapping who finished in 5th as well.
Really looking forward to this season, lots of overtaking in the past 2 races, which puts that fear to rest. Will see how Sochi goes, it's usually pretty boring but perhaps the new cars spice it up a bit.
Good for Bottas, but damn what a crappy course. The tires are also disappointing this year in that the ultra soft can last half a race. Kind of pointless to have 3 compounds at a race.
I expect Spain to be interesting because all the drivers did training there, so they should have a good handle on it.
Also, Eddie Jordan should never be allowed on TV, let alone do the podium interviews. So incredibly awkward. Bottas gets his first win, and this muppet is trying to negotiate a contract in public. Seriously? Sod off, you wanker. Have a little class.
It was also funny to see Putin talking to the winners. "Why yes, there are many fans here. Every hotel is sold out, you know." "Actually, unlike in other countries where fewer propel are watching 1, in Russia it is getting more an more popular." He sounded very Trump-like in his boasting.
This Spanish race is fricken awesome, except for the timing of the commercials. SO annoying.
Why is 3/4 of the screen wasted space? So dumb.
Great race though, to bad for Bottas. Things are not looknig great for Stroll. I would have thought by now he would be doing better. I get the feeling Monaco is going to eat him alive.
Good read. I thought maybe McLaren/Honda wrre throwing a hail mary to Alonso so he knew that Honda wasnt a total gaff and waste of time. Honda has great success in indycar. Why they cant sort out the F1 garbage is beyond me. But it also sounds like Alonso is ready to step into Indycar full time as well. A ton of F1 greats have done it, its not a bad thing. Mansel came over, Andretti, Fitipaldi, the list goes on. Javing Alonso in Indycar may bring them back to the big kids table in terms if popular racing series.
But please, get rid of the rear wheel "bumpers" or whatever they are. The entire rear wing needs to revert back.

Most of those guys you listed raced in the old IndyCar series aka USAC IndyCar aka CART. That era was mostly road courses/street circuits with a smattering of flattish ovals like Indy, Milwaukee and Nazareth. Much different than Texas, Vegas (RIP Dan Wheldon), and Charlotte.
The only former F1 driver of any worth that came over to what is now Indy Car after F1 was Reubens Barrichello who said f that and quit after a year.
Indy 500 qualifying is basically a suicide mission. Sebastian Bourdais is lucky to be alive.
Open wheeled cars on ovals is lunacy. They don't even race sports cars on ovals in the US. Racing is dangerous enough as it is, IndyCar oval racing is beyond insane. They shouldn't be racing on any oval bigger than Phoenix or Iowa.

Indycar is getting a redesign next year. The version I saw looked more like a traditional Indycar. But I believe the bumpers will be used for ovals for safety reasons.
