Binnington showed 5 hole 3 times (that i saw) when he shifted from (his) right to left. Stetcher scored on one of them. I don't know if that's enough to chase a goalie, but it looked pretty open for business.
Otherwise the first 2 periods were all St. Louis. Van was lucky (Markstrom) to hang on until the 3rd. But I don't know why the Blues let off in the last period. Van totally took over.
Problem with super crazy runs with rookie goalies is they tend to fall off after that high. Binnington not playing like that sweetheart currently. Also feels like the team hasn't got up to speed yet after a pedestrian round robin.
I feel like if this was played in April, the Nucks get stomped. But this is a unique situation and teams that find urgency right out the gate will be the most successful.
One hundred percent. The Canucks are coming out of this with either a huge feather in their cap for a young team (unexpected) or an amazing "Welcome to the Play-offs" lesson. I can't think of any young teams that didn't have to go up against great teams before getting over that hump.
Speculation is all fair, fine, and often fu'd up.... in the playoffs everything is out the window. I've personally had it with fans that stick to geographical locations for pure hatred. Just incites toxicity to an honourable game.

Personally I hate Edmonton more for being gifted a generational talent after the league changed the draft lottery rules to try and stop them from winning the 1st overall so much.
I used to hate Canucks for diving and for a rioting fan base.
This latest version of them doesn't really stir any dislike ... so far anyway.
The old hatreds are not burred deep and I am sure will re-surface easily when needed.

Are you new to sports?
And that “pure hatred” extends no further than the confines of the game.
Regular-season series: Canucks won 2-1-0 (Blues 1-1-1). The games were on Oct. 17, Nov. 5, and Jan. 27
This will be the fourth time that the two teams will meet in the playoffs and the Canucks have won each series. The last time was eleven years ago when the Canucks swept the Blues.

Hating your rival team has ALWAYS been part of sports. In fact, I’d argue it is what led to organized sports... you’re taking the hatred way too seriously. This is all in good fun.
