Completely agree. They’re a bad team too. I should rephrase. While I don’t think they are intentionally throwing this game, I think the gravity of this game and it’s meaning to the city, is weighing heavily on the Coyotes players. And on the flip side, Vegas is riding the exact opposite side of that wave and coming in like a brick sh t house.

What's the best start to a season for an expansion franchise?

I wanted Fleury here. But I'm happy that Smith has been playing so well to start the season.

okay most would have picked Rannta over Smith...maybe not as their first choice
this is a good time to remind everyone that the Yotes are still playing Smith lol

Fun to look back at the poll:
https://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=162077
35.0% trade for Fleury,
12.5% trade for Raanta,
11.7% trade for Grubauer,
8.2% keep Elliott,
5.6% trade for Smith,
5.3% promote Gillies.

VGK will be alone on top the Pacific with a win tonight! Who saw this start for the team?

Really glad the Flames don't play Vegas until January. Nobody told them expansion teams are supposed to suck, hopefully they come down a bit by then

I like the slot machine sound effects on their goal announcements.

I was not too keen on Smith coming in as a starter. So far he has been great though, and he does have, as BT puts it, low mileage on his odometer.

The weakness for Vegas is center ice. As soon as they play a team that has quality centers, they're going to be in trouble. They got lucky against Dallas who wasn't ready to play them in the opener, and then they've played Arizona twice. Arizona's centers are:
Derek Stepan
Christian Dvorak
Nick Cousins
Brad Richardson
That might be the only group worse than the Knights' centers.
