FWIW I think Frank is the head of PHWA. So like maybe he thinks he’s being a good head or the association. Who knows.

What would their excuse be for the previous 5 seasons. They don't play a system because none of them have been told to listen to the coach.

Keep it rolling for us Carolina. We’ll give you a discount on a goalie if you embarrass the oilers tomorrow night.
I wonder at what point the Canadian sports media (both TSN and sportsnet) will give up on the oilers this season? Despite all they have seen… most of them seem to act like it’s only a matter of time before they break out and win 12 games in a row… all they need to do is trade for a goalie.
If they lose these next two games (Carolina and Washington) before American Thanksgiving, they will be at the very least 8 points back of a wild card position. Would be very funny to see Oilers management double-down on this team at that point by trading away their first round pick for a goalie. And I think there is no way to trade for a goalie without including their first round pick simply because such a trade will require sending Campbell back as a salary dump. Forgetting anything else in the trade… that alone requires at least a first round pick from Edmonton. And any goalie they get will be behind that oilers defensive structure (or lack there of) so it would, in all likelyhood, be one of the biggest waists of a season, a first round pick, and two franchise players in NHL history. Especially since this outcome likely leads to Draisaitl and McDavid leaving the franchise.

I am not sure why people are siding with Peel in this at all. He posted a private conversation I think that is an offside move. He is a disgraced former official who tries to stay relevant online.
I don’t like Spector at all but do enjoy when he carves the team up
But we all know he has his Pom Pom’s close and is ready to cheer on the Oilers as soon as he can. They have lost 12 of 17 games and the fans are upset he is asking the leadership group how they plan to pull themselves out of it?

That's would be a difficult pill for them to swallow since they've basically canonized the McDuos.

I think this is why this is particularly enjoyable.
The Oilers have sucked for Decades, yet SN and various writers and 'Journalists' constantly pick them as 'the team to beat' despite all evidence pointing to the contrary.
They have sucked hard and drafted high for years and years and yet every year is 'their year.'
It defies belief but its been happening since forever and now...even with the NHL's top 2 goal scorers on their roster, they are once again one of the worst teams in the League, the paper-mache covering over all the cracks is starting to wear away and all of the reporters who have hitched themselves to this wagon are starting to panic.
Its rats off a sinking ship.
But in conjunction with all of that...all the fellatio comments they've been heaping upon the powerhouse 'Cup Contender' Oilers is now finally being thrown back in their faces and eroding whatever shreds of credibility they had left.
Its like the music stopped and its 'The Purge' to try and get one of the few chairs left.
You love to see it.

It’s a fair point by Seravelli.
Really he’s just protecting his industry (professional hockey writers). Spector is a goof, but he’s Frank’s goof.
If posting screenshots of private convos becomes a norm it bleeds the journalistic integrity Frank needs to acquire sources, information, & content.
Spector being terribly insecure & terrible at his job deserves the ridicule, but the way Peel did it was just lazy.
Either way, grab some popcorn.

Except this wasn't a private convo about the background facts of a story, sources etc. It was a private convo about how he doesn't like his work.

Frank is a loser.
He wrote a letter and later deleted during covid demanding access to naked players in the locker room.
Every league moved to the distanced press conferences, but Frank trying to make a name for himself needed to speak up.

I think I'm okay with it unless the conversation explicitly stated otherwise. A person shouldn't write things to a stranger he wouldn't want seen in public. You can't just be a dick to people and expect zero accountability.

Good point, and as others have said Seravalli isn't out to lunch on his take.
That said, he's exactly the type of personality to place himself in the middle of a piss fight. From outside Spector and Peel look like idiots. If I were in the industry my opinion of Frank would have gone anywhere but up after that little fit.
