Sure, that's a logical take for some people. I don't think Pierre is the type to hold back though. He'll want a devastating victory, and will sling whatever mud is lying around at his feet every chance he gets. It's just kind of baffling that anyone with any knowledge of the guy would assume he would take a restrained stance in battle. Even typing that I can't figure out how you'd reach that conclusion.
####ing Pierre Polivere...taking the high road. Get a load of this guy.

PP's whole job description is complaining about Trudeau.

Sorry, I meant personal attacks. Of course PP will attack the Liberal party and their record, scandals, etc.

Now if they don't shut up, they may just shoot themselves in the foot and create their own self-inflicted catastrophe. I wonder if the CPC will have the gumption and self-control to just let political gravity do its thing, or if they feel the need to breathe moistly out of the hot air side of their mouth.
The next election is the CPC's to win, Let's see if they can resist the urge to sabotage it.

That's kind of how every Canadian Federal election rolls though, no? Seems like a never ending cycle of 'voting out' someone versus 'voting for'.
Kinda disenfranchised about the whole situation.

Yes, the party that mocks him for socks, "nice hair," alludes to him being gay, etc., will definitely stay away from the personal attacks. The CPC are notorious for their noble and civil campaigning.

The polls are so tilted in the CPC's favor, the CPC is basically sitting at the finish line. Political parties tend to get more mud-slingy when they're fighting for valuable inches or when they're a sinking ship. The Liberals are for sure going to mudsling and see whatever sticks. I'm curious to see if the CPC will take the high road and cruise to victory.

I think many people voted for Justin's first term. He was pretty hopeful and had ideas that appealed to a lot of people in that campaign. It didn't hurt people were also tired of Harper, but that one felt less about change for the sake of change and more for the ideas they presented. They could learn something from themselves. That, and actually following through...

I agree with this. The next election, whenever it is, won't be as much Poilievre winning it as much as it being gifted to him by this current edition of the LPC.
"Remove Trudeau" unfortunately means the entire liberal party right now because he's made them one brand under his image.
For the good of everyones future I hope PP doesn't get too high on his win and that the liberals pick a level headed leader who will move them more to the centre.
If you can't tell by now, I'm a centrist. I selfishly want to be able to vote for whoever I think is best at any given time regardless of party colours. The choice right now is waaaay too easy.
I give Trudeau until Christmas before he steps down and the LPC starts 2024 fresh-ish.

Wait, what? This is a new one for me, people allude to Trudeau being gay?

GCStrategies and 2 other consulting firms have had all of their contracts suspended over ArriveCan by Canada Border Services.
The RCMP is investigating the whole Arrivecan app process and the contracters.
interesting testimony today as a fromer CBSA official states that the head of GCStrategies, the CBSA President, and the former president and vice president of CBSA lied in front of the committee and is putting it in writing.

Leah Lawrence who's was the head of the Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) The billion dollar green fund. contracted and slipped $200,000 to a company that she is on the board for to do seminars.
SDTC is in front of the ethics committee over lost money. This just came up in testimony a few minutes ago.

I realize people will be people but really hate this kind of thing in politics. These people are supposed to be working for Canadians not stealing taxpayer money for personal gain. There needs to be stiffer punishment for this kind of thing as being a politician shouldn't be a license to steal taxpayer money.

Right now its tough to track because there are so many committees.
One for the green fund and unauthorized payments out of it.
ArriveCan is a poop show, yesterday we found out that not only were the consultants lying in committee but members of the public service including a senior manager for IT, and accusation of a former member and whistle blower saying that the former president and current VP were lying. .
Then we have the healthCanada one where we gave a company $150 million dollars to build a facility and they didn't and kept the money.
Now a lot of this you can blame the government, but a lot of this seems to question the overall competency and communication within the public service and it feels like its run amok.

Its funny, not only did she direct $200,000 to her other company from the sustainable fund, but then she cut herself a $120,000 bonus from that company.
Even in the Green fund annual report she points out that her other company is providing services and seminars to the Green Fund clients.
It comes across as 3rd world junta corruption. Its crazy.
