Kinda shocking how all over the map the Japanese series is, including having 2 alternate sequels and a prequel. The American remake is such a masterpiece, pulling all the right elements and fully leaning into the truly horrific elements.

We're going to watch the 2 American sequels next but don't have high hopes for them.

We also did the run of Manhunter, Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, Red Dragon, and Hannibal Rising (lol).
I havent run that gauntlet in a while, but I have been considering a re-watch of the Hannibal TV series.

Worse than Morbius by a long shot.
That movie was awful.

Don't worry though, there are two other movies in the same universe for you to see that will make you forget all about Madame Web. The new Venom came out last weekend and Kraven hits a theatre near you on Dec 13.

To be fair to Sony, it looks like they were smart with Venom and kept the budget down. It will likely make a solid profit. Enough to potentially even make up for all the losses on Madame Web.

Hey guys, here’s an idea, maybe stop watching superhero movies?

That’s what I did and I’d like you all to join me.

Post Avengers they are largely terrible and all your support for these dog#### movies does is continue them being pumped out?

Like Sliver complaining about how bad they are then paying to see them twice? Every dollar matters for these things so stop supporting them. Then maybe we will get some quality stories back and not just a continuous stream of superhero movies.

This.

The studios don't care if you saw them and hated them, just that you saw them.

I liked Deadpool & Wolverine. I thought it was fun.

I do agree that its not going to age well and that, frankly, Logan was an absolutely incredible film, but it was still fun.

Thats what I like about comic books and comic book movies. They're not supposed to be 'haute couture' they're supposed to be fun.

Movies like 'Madame Web' or 'Morbius' or *kill me now* 'Birds of Prey' now those are awful.

Making it through any of those is a borderline miracle. Those were all awful.

Marvel? They've shipped out some sub-par movies, but other than...what? Eternals? They've all been tolerable.

Oh! No! I'm wrong. Wakanda Forever sucked out loud. I literally checked my watch to guess how much was left.

But generally, they're tolerable.

I purposely waited until I could steal Madame Web off the internet, spending my money on that garbage was never a possibility.

People largely have stopped going to a lot of these movies. Deadpool v. Wolverine, was a bit of an exception, but a lot of superhero movies have already been bombing hard.

We're watching Madame Web on Crave (at least I did). No way I would theatre prices for that.

The only superhero franchise I'll pay to see right now is Reeves' Batman. That movie was awesome and the Penguin is fantastic.

Wild series. The best cliffhangers/finales.

Quite liked Conclave. Worth checking out. Beautiful film, and very interesting with many twists and turns. I'm certain it'll be nominated for Best Picture, and Fiennes should take home his first Oscar. I love The Fugitive, but it's criminal that Fiennes lost for Schindler's List to Tommy Lee Jones.

The Remarkable Life of Ibelin.

I watched this while someone was cutting onions. It was also raining...inside my house... directly on my face.

Such a wonderful story.

I am a 'purist.'

I read all of the novels, watched all of the films and when they decided to make the TV show I was the first person to say:

"This is going to suck out loud!"

Recasting, changing things around, limited rights to property, you name it. I was absolutely convinced it was going to be Hot Awful.

And I loved it. It was so, so good.

Same. It was my mom that originally read silence of the lambs and said hey son, you should check this book out. So I read it and loved it. Then I watch the movie. I really enjoyed it. When the series came out I thought yeah this guy is not gonna be able to pull off Hannibal. And he absolutely ####ing nailed it. Blew my mind.

Couldn't agree more.

Mads Mikkelsen killed it...they all did. No one did a bad job. I was certain it was going to suck and I was blown away.

I remember to this day always thinking when I do a re-watch..."This was broadcast on Network TV?"

Imagine if that was HBO or something.

Unreal. If I were Thomas Harris I'd have been open to selling the rights so they could have kept on going. That was an unreal show.

Boycotting MCU (except for spiderman) and Star Wars until they clean up their game is definitely what we all need to do, but sadly no one will.

We're not giving them any reason to rise above the generic mediocrity put forth since endgame and Mando S2.

Stupid China keeps that Sony spiderverse alive too. If only they would stop.

Went to see Joker 2 this evening. To put it bluntly, how could the director ever think that combining a musical and psychotic thriller was ever going to work. That was 2 hours and 18 minutes of my life that I want back.

Yeah, honestly, in theory I liked the idea of a Joker musical with Gaga. Haven't seen it though. Musical is a razor thin line.

Conclave was great. All around excellent movie. Story, performances, score, cinematography, pacing.

I’d love to see more Robert Harris books adapted.

I just finished Joker 2 and thought it was amazing. Beautifully shot and acted. The fact it has a 30% rating on Rotten Tomatoes is baffling when complete trash is given 80%. And it's not like everyone in the movie sings. It's Joker and Harley and it works because they're F'n insane. They're fantasizing they're huge stars. I really hope they allow the director to continue on.

Thus movie will be seen in a different light years from now.
