Deadpool & Wolverine is peak fan-service and inside jokes, and it was sold as such pretty much all the way back to the first teaser with Reynolds and Jackman.
If you weren't a fan of those movies and the Fox Marvel offerings in the first place I have no earthly idea why you would subject yourself to the latest flick.
I think if Sliver pays to see it a 3rd time that would really show them!

I had enough fun to distract from the fact that there's just barely a movie there once you get past jokes and fan service so I can totally understand why a lot of people would think the movie is terrible because the story is terrible and if you don't get the jokes or think it's funny then there's nothing else going on that's redeeming. I don't expect this movie will age well at all as the jokes are very time and place.
Just an absurdly self-indulgent movie. As ridiculous as the trailer makes it look and more... yet the cinematography, locations, set design, and wardrobe are all top notch.
I remember watching that thinking as long as Alan Rickman was in it, it had to be pretty decent.
Well maybe it was lowered expectations from it getting crapped on all the time, but I thought Alien 3 was pretty good. I would say I had close to as enjoyable a time watching it as the other two. It's not "classic" but very good. I liked how the Alien kills were a bit more gruesome and tortured versus them being mostly pretty swift in the other ones.
In context of wanting to see a direct sequel to Aliens, I can see why it would disappoint. Knowing it wasn't that and just enjoying it for what it is probably helped.

I've been rewatching the Scream movies, it's probably the most consistent slasher franchise, there isn't an outright terrible movie.
Scream - the original is one of the best slasher films and the best 90s horror movie. Still holds up really well.
Scream 2- underrated, the opening is amazing at the movie theater.
Scream 3 - my least favorite but there is still plenty to enjoy here. The movie is ahead of its time, showing how Hollywood producers would take advantage of young actresses and abuse them. Produced by Harvey Weinstein, was Wes Craven telling us something?
Scream 4- again way ahead of its time, the film talks about the influence of social media and how kids use it to become famous. This also has a stacked cast, and introduces fan favorite Kirby.

The original release was a mess, and not great. I can't remember which version is ultimately the best, but it's possible you watched one of them. I do enjoy 3. Not as good as one or two, but for people who never went back, search out the best cut and give it another go.

Yeah that's true. From what I can tell between hearing about the other cuts, the current version on Disney may be edited even further. But seems to be for the better.
I watched Trap. The real trap was that it tricked me into watching a terrible tween music concert movie. Hartnett was good though
Yeah, I saw that this week, too.
If Shamaladingdong was going for a good movie he failed. If he was going for a ridiculous and terrible movie whose whole was better than the sum of its parts, he somehow succeeded. I wouldn't recommend it, but it also wasn't a waste of time to watch.
I think movie critiques should include a foot note with your favourite movie of all time.
i.e. “I hated Deadpool 3. *Favourite movie: Ishtar”
Ok, now I know what I’m working with.
I forgot I posted this and I thought I was more specific. I love DP 1 and 2 and all the Wolverine movies, something about the flow of this one or something just killed it for me. It doesn't make sense that I dislike the 3rd so much and I get that but I can't explain it.

I actually didn't mind it.
Hartnett carried it but he made the bulk of his scenes engaging. As usual for MKS films, the script edges on silly.
The twist wasn't to the film's detriment unlike many of his other movies.
The weakest part wasn't promoting his daughter but that the third act was such a change of pace from the rest of the film. The daughter was essentially dropped and suddenly the popstar had a big role. Just felt uneven.
Still decent enough entertainment though. But I also saw it on the big screen. Not sure how it translates to a watch at home.
Out of morbid curiosity I actually watched Madame Web.
It's far worse than I thought and worse than the reviews were letting on. Dakota Johnson is a ####ing awful actress. The script was garbage, the villain's voice over was distracting, nothing made sense, the action scenes were so poorly executed, the editing was bad, it's by far the worse super hero movie I've ever seen. Worse than Morbius by a long shot.
My wife and I watched the Ringu series leading up to rewatching The Ring on Halloween.
Kinda shocking how all over the map the Japanese series is, including having 2 alternate sequels and a prequel. The American remake is such a masterpiece, pulling all the right elements and fully leaning into the truly horrific elements.
We're going to watch the 2 American sequels next but don't have high hopes for them.
We also did the run of Manhunter, Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, Red Dragon, and Hannibal Rising (lol).
