I get the same feeling. At this point, I think there are some minor deals at the trade deadline, but nothing major. Hopefully something like McBackup to be insurance for cheap.
I still think we sign Talbot this off season. Guy is prime for a bounceback season next year, and might be able to be signed for a one year show me contract. Rittich I still see getting $2M to $2.5M per year tops. Well, unless he wins us a Stanley Cup. Then all bets are off.

Scratch what I said about Pierre McGuire.
John Ferguson is exactly what the oilers need.

Not really. The Stone deal was earlier, but most of his "deadline" deals have happened within the final few days before the deadline (right up to the final minutes).

St Louis is not moving their 25-year-old goalie who has rattled off six straight wins, which has effectively catapulted them into the playoff hunt.

Given the way he has been playing, that shouldn't be a problem.

If we somehow end up with one of the big three (Stone, Duchene, Panarin), knowing full well that Tree isn't going after them as pure rentals...oh happy days! Happy Days!

I don’t see any scenario where Panarin stays but the Sens I could see extending. Stone is the guy. More and more rumors about the Flames interest in him (TSN, Athletic, 4th period) and now SN is reporting we are hunting big game. Exciting times indeed.

Not sure about Jake Allen either but other than this season he's been ok.
How about a little wild and crazy.. Allen and a 2nd for Smith? Gets STL out of the contract if they think he's done. Frees up about $4.5M for the Blues in the off season. Flames hope for a rebound in a new city and get a 2nd for taking the chance.

 Posted the 6 millionth post!

I feel like Mike Hoffman could be a very real possibility. He has been rumored to be on the board, is a great top-six winger we could use for scoring depth, and Florida is rumored to be trying to clear space for Panarin/Bobrovsky in recent weeks. Huberdeau is also speculated to be available, but I bet Tallon would rather give up Hoffman than Hubs. Hoffman also has 45 points in 55 games, that's great production.
We all know Tre doesn't want a pure rental, and Hoffman has another year after this at 5.1 million. We'd have to clear some cap room to make this happen, but I think that's where you'd have to give one of Frolik or Stone, plus one of our young defensemen.
Might be a good option if Stone, Duchene or Panarin are priced way too high.

Wait... John Ferguson Jr.?
The ex-Leafs GM who:
- traded Tuukka Rask for Andrew Raycroft
- traded a 1st, a 2nd, and a 4th for Vesa Toskala
- signed a 34-year-old Jason Blake to a 5-year deal
- traded a 1st, a 2nd, and 2 prospects for 15 games of a 35-year-old Brian Leetch?
- signed Bryan McCabe to an awful 5-year deal worth $29 million
- traded a 2nd for a month of a 37-year-old Yanic Perreault
- fired Pat Quinn
- assembled the "Muskoka Five"
Oh god, yes.
