Personally I've been a subscriber since day one, and I've really enjoyed it. Sure the detractors say its not WOW, but the story modes are way better and if you think about it there are 8 independent stories 4 Empire and 4 Republic.

There are a lot of operations and flashpoints for PVP'ers. They've added two worlds and a ton of dailies. I've also really enjoyed Galactic starfighter which is a brand new add on.

I think the game has come a long way since day one. Is it perfect? No, but I really enjoy it.

And I've gotten way more then 15 bucks a months worth of entertainment value.

Just being able to get things like the rested hit points, normal xp growth. The addons in storage and bank accounts and access to flashpoints and arenas and operations on a regular basis is worth it.

I may have asked this before, but can you play this as a single player game?

The story elements interest me, but I'm not interested in the social aspects.

Yes. You will not be able to do some of the heroic quests, but the class storylines are all designed to be single player.

You can do the heroic 2 if you have very good armor and your companion has very good armor or if your 5 levels above the mission. Heroic 4 you can do if you have good armor and are 10 levels higher then the mission. But at that point you don't get experience points and your playing it more for drops and the story lines.

The solo story lines is the strong point of the game. While the pvp has improved a ton since start up its not like a WOW which is almost a dedicated pvp game now.

The great thing about the story lines is the different characters.

You can be on the republic side of things with a Trooper, Smuggler, Jedi Knight or Jedi Consular. If you want great humor play a smuggler, if you want to be a true hero be a trooper the Jedi stuff is self explanatory. You can make your characters light side or be a complete dark side jerk and it makes a big difference in terms of how your character reacts and appears.

On the Empire side you can be a Sith Warrior (Darth Vader type) Sith Inquisitor (Palpatine type) a Spy (best story in the game) or a bounty hunter. You can play them dark or light side as well. But with the Sith Inquisitor and even the Warrior I tended to be completely darkside.

One of the cool things I've done lately in my mind is stopping and just looking at the scenary on the different worlds. Sitting at the front entrance of the Sith training temple on Korriban and looking up and seeing huge Imperial starships moving across the sky is awesome. Or standing on top of a super high bridge on Alderaan and looking down to see a battle happening. Some of the scenary especially on the new worlds like Makeb and Oricon are amazing.

I will also say that the first time you get a lightsabre and turn it on you'll have a nergasm if your any kind of star wars buff.

Or if you play a Sith Inquisitor the first time you shoot force lightning out of your finger you'll stiffle a cry of "POWER UNLIMITED POWER"

If I remember right I'm on the Bastien server so you can look me up there if you want to I can give you my character names.

I finished up Tatooine last night, and finally discovered the true power of a Defence Guardian (level 26 by the by). I was continually getting ganked by a 34 Assassin when I was at 1/4 or (usually) less. When I was finishing up a conversation with a Czerka tower he started at it again. He was brave this time, challenging me when I was at full health. He didn't even stand a chance. I was at barely 3/4 health when he died, so I sought him out every chance I got. Just following him, not attacking. He was so paranoid. He kept running away and trying to hide.

Tatooine was a fun planet, despite the fact that it is a wretched desert. Alderaan is up next and I can only imagine what it's going to be like. At least I get to meet Princess Leia's adoptive future family.

I'm assuming that you finished the side mission the thing that Czerka found. That to me was one of the toughest missions in the game up until that point.

Its funny, my Jedi Consulor (shadow) pounded out a Sith Assasin last night on Voss, he was a couple of levels ahead of me. I started nailing him in the face with rocks and interrupting his spells. So he got down to a quarter and took off with force speed.

I had to chance him and we start dragging mobs behind us. I chased him up the side of a hill and hit him with a force push on this huge hill and he fell screaming to his death. I laughed at my win and turned around only to see about 5 mobs of 4 gormak each running up to beat the crap out of me, so I decided to just jump off the cliff and follow my opponent down.

Alderan is a great world with a great story. Yes you meet the Organa family, I personally didn't like them very much but did the job.

Its a pretty world to play in and the Kilik stuff is a ton of fun as well.

In terms of worlds

Ord Mantell - You start there as a smuggler or a Trooper. Its actually a huge world for a starter planet where you don't have a mount. So you spend a lot of time running. Its not a pretty world to look at, but there are some great hidden areas

Tython - World of the Jedi, you start there as a knight or Consular, this is a really pretty world with a lot of temples and ruins and a really cool looking enemy in the Flesh Eaters. I really liked this planet to jet cruise around in

Coruscant - You spend most of your time in the underworld here which to me makes it a bit dull. But there are lots of open spaces and heroic areas. Its kind of cool riding around in a sky cab here, but its not one of the better planets

Hutta - The starting world for Bounty Hunters and IA. This world makes you feel like your getting sucked into swamps and mud and have things crawling all over you. It just feels dirty, but you get to explore Hutt palaces which is cool is deal with the outright scum of the galaxy.

Korriban - The starting world for the Sith characters and absolutely cool and georgeous. You look up and see Sith Dreadnaughts slowly cruising across the sky. You get to explore the ancient tombs of long dead Sith Lords and you get to explore the training academy. This world is probably the smallest starting world of all the planets mentioned above. Its the home of the duel as you will be constantly challenged by other players to fight for some reason.

Drummond Kas - I loved this world, its dark and gloomy and you can watch the lightnight storms for hours. The capital city is cool but there are tons of things to see from revanite camps to huge monuments to Sith Lords being built to the ancient Sith temple that in itself is hazy and creepy. There is also a huge Sith Lords compound that you can explore and find all kinds of treasures. Some of the datacrons are really challenging to get to and there are tons of heroic missions. Explore the central building in the capital city that houses a Sith temple where the Emperor suppossedly lives, the Mandalore enclave and Imperial Intelligence

Nar Shadda - Really an extension of Corscucant in a lot of ways. As its all underground and fairly claustrophobic. I didn't really enjoy it that much it felt like a grind world. Speaking of which the World Monster on this planet is awesome.

Tatooine - For some reason I really liked this planet especially when you get into some of the valleys and caves and fight the sand people. I spent a long time trying to get the Sith Holorcon in their starting city. I spent a while going through Anchorhead trying to find Toshi station so I could get some power converters but had no luck. The last area is just wide open flat dessert. I'd encourgage you to go after the two datacrons in that area because it involves a half hour balloon ride over the desert. Tatooine is also the home of the level 55 bored guys ganking the crap out of level 26 players.

Alderaan - Really a pretty planet with some great views. The first planet where I saw 20 players battling it out in the middle of the field which was great to watch. I waited til the last guys standing then snuck up behind him and stabbed him in the back.

Taris - Most people will remember this planet from the KOTOR 1, and its never recovered, blasted and over run with Raghouls its a huge world with lots to explore including the downed Ebon Hawk. Very cool and important planet

Balmora - A pretty generic world with lots of heroric areas, but its the front of the war there are at least two major factories to explore on this planet, and if you play on the republic side you get to sneak into a major Sith held city that you'd recognize if you play on the Imperial side. Its as action packed as it gets

Quesh - A really tiny world that you can knock out in a few hours. Its a ugly mining planet run by hutts.

Hoth - Its a stunning world from the standpoint that its exactly what you'd think it was from watching Empire Stikes Back. The starship graveyard is absolutely chaotic and the missions are challenging. There are a bunch of Wampa caves to explore and you can capture your own Tauntaun mount there. It just looks cold

Belsavis - Prison planet and an incredible world because the level design is so good and this world is huge. The last area is very cool if your on the empire side as its dark and impossible to see enemies lurking in the shadows. I really enjoyed this world

Voss - Ok its pretty but for some reason it just seemed like a grind world and the mystics stuff bored me.

Corellia - Great world because its so beaten to crap by the world and its incredibly dense. It also has the most areas of factions running into each other which is cool. Once you get by the opening area it goes quickly. Its usually the end spot of your character story.

Illum - A lot like Hoth in looks and a major source of dailies. There is a massive PVP player there and the gree event happens there quite a bit. Its more a functional world then sexy, but it does have a couple of cool abandoned Jedi Temples.

Makeb - Absolutely awesome, its stunning to look at and the mobs behave entirely differently then what your used to. If your on the Empire side it also features two of the toughest missions in the game and I can say that without hesitation.

Except for the last 2 (Imperial Side anyway), Battle for Ilum and False Emperor are both group missions, they have little to no bearing on your personal story line but are important for the story of the SWTOR universe, as is The Foundry. Once you get to 50 and have decent gear, you can solo Foundry, I haven't tried to solo the other 2 yet at lvl 55.

Outside of WWIIOL, SWTOR was my first MMO, been a subscriber since day one and love every minute of it, I think it's well worth the $15 a month if you're big into the Star Wars universe.

I've logged 1350+ hrs on my main toon

I've wanted to try that. I have the level 66 gear on my Sith Inquisitor, I think I'll try to solo that level.

Yup your right it was the Spire

I tried this game in beta and was very unimpressed. However people here seem to like it so maybe I will give it a run on the free to play to see if it grabs me.
In wow I enjoyed any class that allowed for button smashing (hunter, DK, warrior, mage) and was not really into the support classes like Warlock & Priests. Last MMO i played was Guild Wars 2 which I really enjoyed because the PVP was great but the grind was killing me.

What class would you say is the most rookie to play (easy mode).

I left SWTOR after 1.5 months because the PvP was utterly broken (as noted by the closing off of the open world PvP planet, the name of which I cannot remember - has it even reopened yet??) and because EA decided to do nothing about the honor bug, which allowed players to get top tier levels of gear really easily for a short period of time.

Arenas were very meh.

Just my opinion, but I would never go back. I had a level 50 Sith inquis at the time too.

I think your thinking of Illum.

It has a huge open world world PVP area. The last time I played the Gree event it was pretty full.

I don't recall the honor bug

If you want to be that button masher type you'd probably want to look at a Jedi Guardian, Sith Juggernaut type class, they're both pretty much tanks.

The other one I liked was the Bounty Hunter Mercenary. For complete fun the Smuggler gunslinger is awesome to play because of the dirty fighter build which involves the kick to the sack stun move, and the distraction fake surrender move.

Finished the Jedi Consular main storyline, I have to admit that the fight against the final boss was cool, considering that he had several really nasty powers including pulling a roof down on me.

I'm off to do Illum and Makeb, then I'll put him aside and start my final story which is the Jedi Knight.

Very cool how you can see the stories coming together now in terms of the war.

Spoiler!
