well its been over 24 hours since troutman picked
What is really amazing, i was going through my albums and Im shocked by how little music I purchased in the period of 2000-2002. I think Ive got something like all of 8 albums from that period of which, 3 I cant even choose anyways because Ive already taken the artist else where in the draft, and 3 more that I had penned in for different categories, and a couple which are alright, but not great.
As such...I think what Im going to do, is move Frou Frou - Details to 2000-2002
also, was looking at the draft board, and seems my 1991-93 pick of Tool - Undertow was missed
with the opening in the electronic/techno category,
Sneaker Pimps - Becoming X

the year was 1982. We'd just purchased (we = my Dad) our first cassette player. A then-fancy digital Akai. I was fascinated by all the equalizer lights, etc. Pretty cool stuff at the time. And the album I recorded and was playing the heck out of was from some Aussie band named Men at Work. I'll take Business as Usual as my pop selection
Just got in the door, don't really have time to write out my pick but in hopes to speed things along and start getting people to make their picks quicker.... I'm going to write mine in now and fill out the rest, when I get back from picking up my medication, for those of us that enjoy this

There are probably many different reasons:
- people just stopped looking to see if it was their turn
- they picked the stuff they wanted to, and now it is a stretch to fill categories
- when other people quit it made the whole draft seem a bit shaky
- it has just dragged on too long.
I'm not sure what to do from here on.

I agree with bobblehead. The draft started out great then it was killed by the 24hour wait and the move out of the Off Topic area. There is so long in between picks that I will sometimes just forget an then find out I am AK. This week was like that. House hunting on the weekend and then I was in Red Deer yesterday so today is my first time on CP in 3 or 4 days.
I also suffer from chronic 'having a whole bunch of albums in the same year' which presents a challenge at this point and I do find I am stretching sometimes.

Well, you're up now! So go ahead and let's get this thing moving again!
If there are any permanent AK's, maybe we could take those folks out of the draft order in the original post. Would make the wait seem shorter when people are looking to see when they are up.

Wiki:
Quote:
'Road Apples' is the second full-length album by Canadian rock band The Tragically Hip.
Released in 1991, the original title of the record was Saskadelphia, but the record label considered it "too Canadian." As a joke, they re-titled it Road Apples, slang for horse dung. After the album was released, they created the Another Roadside Attraction festival. The album was recorded in New Orleans, and although most of the songs were finished by the time they arrived, "Little Bones" was inspired by a local taxi driver.
The album is often cited by fans and critics as the band's finest work. As with most Tragically Hip albums, Canadian themes appear in the album's lyrics. "Three Pistols" is an English translation of the name of the Quebec town Trois-Pistoles, and refers to Tom Thomson, a Canadian painter, as well as Remembrance Day, the Canadian commemorative day for its war dead. "The Luxury" refers to the fleur-de-lis, provincial symbol of Quebec, while "Born in the Water" is about the controversy surrounding Ontario municipalities declaring themselves "English-only" in the dying days of the Meech Lake Accord debate.
I think we can skip Eastern_Girl - her second last post was in the Lit thread saying she was really busy and asking to be skipped.
