Really looking forward to the Packers and Cowboys game in a few weeks here. Really if Green Bays players didn't have fumblitis in that game against Chicago they're 9-0 right now too with the Pats. Right now they have a pretty legitimate claim to being the second best team in the NFL so far this season.

Eagles sure stole one in Washington yesterday. Brian Westbrook is absolutely amazing and McNabb actually had a good game against a pretty decent Washington secondary. This team is a lot like the Flames, look really good on paper but have lacked execution.

Forgot to mention that Donovan McNabb now holds the Eagles' franchise record for completions with 2,090, surpassing Ron Jaworski.

I didn't know that. Not bad for a guy who was booed on draft day.

No kidding. Injury-prone or not McNabb will probably go down as the best QB ever to put on an Eagles uniform. Another interesting fact, for a guy who is known for not being a very accurate passer, he holds the NFL record for most consecutive passes (24) and the most in one game (14). He also has the second lowest percentage of passes intercepted in a career.
And Philly fans wanted Ricky Williams.

Ugh.
Should've been a 3 way tie for 1st in the AFC West tonight.

And the Broncos are not lucky for winning 3 games on the last play of the game?

Here I am gushing about McNabb and it's Brian Westbrook who is set to smash nearly every Eagles' single-season offensive record (TDs, rushing yards, and receving yards). He's already broken the franchise single-season record for receptions. Pretty good when you look at a list that includes T.O., Irving Fryar, Harold Carmichael, and Keith Jackson.
EDIT: That last part about total yards was wrong. Misread the article I was looking at.

Impressive win.
I thought they would lose that game. The Giants defense has been lights out for several weeks now and Eli has been playing quite well. That's not to say I think Dallas is a fraud or anything, I just thought they would have a really tough time in that game.
Let's not forget my preseason Super Bowl pick...New England vs Dallas.
Looking pretty good right now, early as it is.

This argument is so old and logically flawed.
If you watched those games, especially the first two, you would know that the opponents were lucky they had a chance to win the game.
Since win did a game winning FG become a sign of weakness?

Lost in all the craziness of the weekend was Fred Taylor surpassing the 10,000 career rushing yard mark. Big accomplishment. The addition of Jones-Drew may actually wind up extending his career.
Not a fan of the Jaguars, not one bit, but have a lot of respect for Taylor.

I thought it was a tough game and Giants were very good against the run and ran a number of blitz packages that gave the Cowboys a challenge. Their defense was way better than in the first game. But I think people aren't noticing that the Cowboys defense is good and getting better. That and Owens was just a complete mismatch for the Giants as really the only way they stopped him was by grabbing him, tripping him and whatever else they could get away with. Otherwise he was key on a couple of drives to keep them going and of course burned them twice.
Giants could indeed comeback yet again as they have rallied from looking useless to coming in with a chance to win a big one in the division race. They didn't quite get it done but by end of the season they could get another crack by getting in via the wildcard.

I didn't watch any of those games but would be interested in your take on how things went down. Didn't one game involve the opponent missing a game winning kick in OT or something? That seems pretty lucky. Fortunate at least.
Plus, I'm curious how you can be so confident the Broncos weren't lucky to win those games but their opponents, of course, were lucky to make it close.

Statistical domination.
Pure and simple.
The Broncos dominated both of those teams and you can make the argument based on statistics that those teams were fortunate to have a chance to win just as easily as those who didn't see the games can make snap judgements about last minute field goals.
Anyone who wants to say the Broncos SHOULD be 1-8, and I've heard that a lot, is clearly not objective.

Well I know a real fan wants his team to win and make the playoffs....But, that would have been the worst thing to happen for the Chiefs is win that division with an 8-8 record and than get slobber knocked in week one of the playoffs. IMO right now they are the worst offensive team in the NFL with the offence they trucked out on the field yesterday. Their O-line is terrible, they have a good receiver in Bowe, and TG is still a pro bowl calibre TE although no longer the best in the game. Priest Holmes come back is remarkable, but he's an average NFL RB nowadays and really can't do much of anything behind that line. They need at least two years of good drafting until they'll have a team thats any good again. So really at this point I think they're best to start Croyle now and see if he has it or not and than go into the draft with a top 8 pick and look to get a stud O lineman.

I think one of the best things the Chiefs could do would be to get someone like a Jake Long in this year's draft and then a big, mobile quarterback like Tim Tebow (if he declares) in next year's draft.

The Broncos would have to win the division to get in and I don't see that happening despite a relatively easy schedule the rest of the way. I know the defense isn't fixed despite how well they played yesterday.
I'd love to see them get a top 15 pick again. The offensive line is aged and I think they need another good LB and S.

You are a sad, sad man, as I think it's been said ad nauseum that there are basically no Favre haters, just those that thought the game had passed him by. Nonetheless, Favre looks like the old Brett Favre, not like an old Brett Favre as he appeared to be the last three years. The same could be said for Randy Moss to an even greater extent, but he doesn't appear to be getting quite the same stroking around here for some reason.

I didn't see the Cheifs game, but either the Ravens or my 49ers are the worst offenses.
And the Patriots are going to get a top 10 draft pick this year since the 49ers traded this years top 10 to the Pats at the draft last year (and I still think that was the right move - the 49ers need O-Linemen).

Yeah, in about 20 years (I think Todd Blackledge in 1983 is the last one...who??) of being a Chiefs fan I don't think they've ever used a top round pick on a QB. Which really is a long time for an NFL team to go without using a top pick at that position. Steve Deberg, Dave Kreig, Joe Montana, Steve Bono, Elvis Grbac, Rich Gannon, Trent Green were all pretty long in the tooth by the time they made their way to the Chiefs. Not exactly a position that King Carl has put a lot of thought into. Or I guess maybe first round QB's have too high a tendency to be busts for him to use a pick on one?

I'm not a huge believer in relying on statistics to tell the story. I just looked up the stats for the Bills and Raiders games. Looks like the Broncos were superior in most statistical stories. Again, having not watched those games, how did it come to pass that the final result was so close?
Did the Broncos crap the bed in the red zone? 87 yard drives ending with turnovers?
