With Kopitar supposedly retiring at the end of next season, hard to see why they would even considering moving Byfield. He’s 22 and has progressed quite well.

I'd be stunned if Seattle moved Beniers, he looks locked in to be a 55-75pt a year elite two way center at worst who contends for the selke, he is regularly posting a pretty remarkable corsi on a not great team, and his cap hit is right on the money for a 2C. He's like a bigger better Backlund from what I've seen

Tire fire swing? Some team whose management is a tire fire is taking a swing at a trade? Buffalo comes to mind. Or Edmonton.

FWIW: I'm told "There is nothing to Flames/Buffalo on JJ or Ras"

interesting. Mogilny overdue of course and Thornton and Chara are IMO no brainers as fast track candidates
I could quibble whether Keith (I have my feelings about the guy but he has an accomplished CV) or Price goes first, but I think CP gets their eventually (and likely soon). Cups always seem to talk in these scenarios

Did Bennett grow with FLA? Because we traded him there at 25, pretty much the same age as Frost. I just have a hard time putting relatively young players into boxes. We got Sharangovich at 25, and he had a 31 goal, 59 point career season, the best season by a Belorussian, and I think he'll hit 30 and 60 again in his career.
I guess my point is that the growth of a player largely depends on the role he's given, and the coaching and preparation that goes into fitting that role. I'm cautiously optimistic that one of Zary and Frost takes a big step as a centre next year.

Not comparable. Florida had a team built on the upswing. Flames have a lot of building left.

With all the pre-draft buzz/trade interest, and the individual war rooms, it seems like a bit of a perfect storm for an action packed draft.
Gonna be fun!
