Looked it up. Slafkovsky, Nemec, Cooley, Wright, Gauthier. All doing better than Wright.

Still think he's worth a shot though. Not for Andersson and a 1st though.

Not sure. He is still young, but something seems off about him.

Teams don't pass over a right shot C who is that highly rated.

xGF% Shane Wright ranks 1st on the Kraken. 2 points in 13 games is concerning, but when I watch him play, I still see tons of potential.

Sometimes the results just aren't there. Go back to the debate on Necas and if they flames should go after him. Stats said he was just an average 2nd line center/winger. Pretty sure you called him a 40-point guy. He's halfway there now with 18 in 10. Sometimes the results just aren't there, yet.

Wright will start to score, he might not be the offensive star he once was projected to be. I see a 2-way star in the making. He is only 20, 21 in a few months.

He has never been noticeable when I watch him play. We are not a position to throw away 1st round picks for projects.

Necas was a 40–50-point player. What was I supposed to call him? He got a bridge deal. He has had a nice start to this season and looks better. He is also a winger who is 25 so again not what the Flames should be targeting in a trade.

Shane Wright is a poor man's Pavel Brendl with a Nail Yakupov attitude.

As much as I like Kirkland since being called up, I can't help but think we need a depth center like Schwindt. A young center who is money on faceoffs. This team really needs to improve on the dot. Wright doesn't have decent results in that regard yet either, although sometimes it takes a while to develop those skills. Schwindt looks like one of those guys that could make a career of it.

Crosby was really bad his first few years, he worked really hard at getting better and now he is one of the best.

That is what separates a Crosby from a McMickey. Crosby wants to be great at everything, and the other guy just cares about points.

I never thought Schwindt got a good crack here. And he didn’t look lost when he did play. He was never going to be a star, but I think he has 3rd line C potential.

His first year he struggled at 45.5, then worked on it. 49.8 year 2, then over 50. Don’t look now, but he’s continued to get better. Over 58 pct last year and 59.5 so far this year

What a beast

Schwindt definitely trending as a Copp type player.

It was pretty stupid to lose him on waivers without getting a look

How is he “definitely trending” to have a similar career to a guy who will play more than 800 games in the nhl?
What is the basis for such a statement?

I thought he could be a useful 4th liner who can win face offs and is right handed.

Instead they wanted to go with grey beards like Rooney who does nothing well or journeymen AHL players like Kirkland.

He got a look.

His numbers regressed in the AHL also.

How was he trending up?

Phillips, Valimaki, and now Schwindt. We gotta stop letting these stars slip through our fingers.

What a beast
He's taken 47 faceoffs. That's less than William Karlson and Karlson's only played four games. He took one faceoff last game vs Utah and lost. So it appears even Vegas doesn't appreciate his beastness

He might continue to be a face off beast if he starts doing it more but the guy doesn't have much offence and even a 3rd line center is a huge stretch. (Vegas is using him on LW)
