Large calf muscles are more indicative of running sports, like soccer.
So seeing a hockey player with chicken legs below the knee is normal.
However, MOST hockey players (at least strong skaters) will have big butts and thighs.

Yeah, leg speed is not tied to leg mass...at all.
Tkachuk has meaty legs and I don't recall him creating one breakaway in his entire time here.

Joel Otto has the most famous chicken legs in hockey history, Perry Berezan called them "out of bounds markers" on the golf course.

From Preseason Cup Champions with the preseason Rockette Ricardo trophy winner to a jersey toss in less than three periods. Yep, likely.

Oilers interested in Virtanen
Edmonton taking in all the abusers. Great look.

Virtanen and Kane on the same team. What could possibly go wrong?

League minimum contract, Virtanen could be a valuable bottom six player on any team.

Where there is smoke there is fire. There has been a lengthy discussion of guilty vs not guilty and the gray section in between. The larger point here is that The Oilers put no value in morals or character and this is evident right from the Owner down to the players. They embrace bringing every POS human into that team. Absolute embarrassment.
I assume the Oilers are trying to get the specific names of the players associated with the World Juniors sexual assault so they can get a head start recruiting. Complete joke of an organization.

There are not 4/5 teams interested, the media paints this picture so the Oilers can feel like they won some sweepstakes or something. They genuinely think up there Evander Kane took a deep discount to stay with the team, they are absolutely clueless.

Given their approach to other such players with baggage, Carolina might be one of those teams. (Maybe even Montreal, Columbus or Philly) Can definitely see some teams more willing than others to take a flyer on players despite their baggage

Are the Oilers having trouble signing Ryan McLeod?
I mean they're close to 7 million over the cap right now. Even with Smith's and Klefbom's long term injuries against it they're 300 k roughly over the cap and they need to sign Mcleod who's probably going to be asking for well over a mil. And they're going to add lets say another 750k to that.
So around 2.5 over. If they sign Mcleod and Virtannan, that puts them at 13 forwards.
Honestly Holland would put his team over a barrel. If I was a GM and he called me to dump Foegele my price would be Edmonton's first round pick or Holloway. I would absolutely gut him to save his cap.

Exactly.... what are they going to do. They are 2 players short - they need to get, let's say 500K off their cap and add 2 more players plus replace any player they move.
My assumptions are that any player getting 1 million or less doesn't matter, they have no net effect on the cap space regardless (replacement value). Then you have all the players that are "protected" and they won't move:
McDavid
Nurse
Draisaitl
Hyman
Nugent-Hopkins
Kane
Campbell
Barrie
Ceci
Yamamoto
Kulak
Ryan (too small cap to matter)
Janmark (too small cap to matter)
So that leaves only two players as possible salary dumps - and you can't bury their cap because you'll only save 1 million per and be on the hook for the remaining and you'll need to bring someone else up consuming much of that savings.
Puljujärvi
Foegele
Good luck with that Holland.
