I'm betting its a long night for the Rider's special teams coach.

Who knew that the Lawfirm was now 5th for all-time passing yards on the Argos? I sure as heck did not know lol.

Argos are a hot mess. That was the most gift wrapped game in decades and they almost found a way to lose it. I think this year could really be the first where two western teams are in the Grey Cup. The eastern teams are just so bad.

The real joke will be an 7 or 8 win team getting a home playoff game in the East while a 10+ win team won't make it.

I agree with your premise, however I would be shocked if Edmonton wins 10 games this season.

I can see Edmonton getting to 500 at least though. They dont seem as bad as their record to me.

Cornelius doesn't look half bad to be honest, I think he needs to just get rid of the ball quicker and/or use his legs more when he's feeling pressure.

If Edmonton can get back to .500 they likely take the crossover from the Riders who have had by far the easiest schedule in the league so far and are a sad 4-3.

Riders likely finish in the 8-10 range so a .500 Elks team would pass them.

The Elks can't win at home. No way they get more than 6 wins this year. Still a 9-9 or 8-10 Riders team could have an easier path to the Grey Cup than say a Stampeders team with a 13-5 record. Once they get an Atlantic team they should scrap Divisions and seed on record.

Elks can't win at home and they can't win against western opponents. They only have 4 more games left vs the east so I don't know where they are going to get 9 wins out of the remainder of their schedule.

Sounds like Craig is saying the Riders are suffering the Wideman effect with Garrett Marino being the Riders version of Dennis:

Following the Riders’ Week 7 loss to the Argos at home, head coach Craig Dickenson suggested some of the borderline calls on which he and his team might normally get the benefit of the doubt haven’t gone their way since that infamous July 8 game.

“I think the negativity of that Ottawa game has followed through our team a little bit,” said Dickenson.

“I think it’s hurt our team in a lot of ways. Even questionable calls we don’t seem to get anymore. And I think a lot of it is a self-fulfilled prophecy when you talk about a team as being possibly undisciplined a lot of times then the refs look at the team the same way.”

“I’m hoping I can reverse that dialogue on our team. It’s going to take time and I’m hoping I can change the perception of our team as undisciplined and playing a little bit over the edge to being a little more disciplined — being physical but playing to that edge and not past it.”

Seems like a strange thing to complain about after a game where your opponent was penalized 10 times for 112 yards and your team was flagged only 6 times for 51 yards. The pressure must be getting to Craig as things are unravelling for him.

They've had a pretty easy schedule up to this point as well - Next 8 games are all versus West division opponents which are the following:

BC (three games)
Winnipeg (three games)
Edm (two games)

Pretty crazy that the Stamps and Riders don't face each other until the final two weeks of the season (home-and-home)

Based on that, I wouldn't be overly surprised to see them go 1-7 in those 8 games (Edmonton has to be able to win a game sometime, right?).

Yeah, seems odd to say those words out loud to the media. Save that stuff for Riderfans forum ranting.
