I suspect that will be the second shoe to drop, one has to assume there's a woman out there who's had her crotch grabbed, it's clear sexual assault.

Maybe they can arrest him onstage!!

Absolutely, and to me it speaks to a more general view of his, that if you're a star you're above the law. Pretty scary stuff to brag about something like that

This news story is already starting to disappear. More people are talking about the Wikileaks release, because there is more damning evidence of wrongdoing there, then some random banter going on between two men.

Reminder: Twitter is not the real world.

Additional reminder: The Wikileaks story is mostly a bust.

Yes the Trump cult is lapping it up, because it's more or less their conspiratorial view of Hillary, that she's open borders and wants to import Muslims and continue the path to white genocide. Trump has that voting block locked up short of calling of these people morons (and even then, he's got their vote). Undecideds are seeing a whole lot more about Groper McSmallHands than Wikileaks, and oh yeah there's obviously more legs to Groper than Wikileaks. We've already had another damning story out and more women will be coming out about the orange pervert. I know you're a huge Trump supporter, but reality is not the strong suit of Trump supporters. Unless he delivers an all-time performance Sunday, this election is pretty much over.

Trump's vulgar video is the lead story on literally every political news site right now. Either this is wishful thinking, or you only pay attention to Breitbart. This story is most definitely NOT "starting to disappear."

Trump's chances of victory are though. Fast.

It literally crashed the WaPo servers. The most read story in the website's history.

Quote:
Reporter David Fahrenthold got a phone call around 11 a.m. Friday from a source with a tip about Donald Trump. The source asked: Would Fahrenthold be interested in seeing some previously unaired video of Trump?

Fahrenthold didn’t hesitate. Within a few moments of watching an outtake of footage from a 2005 segment on “Access Hollywood,” the Washington Post reporter was on the phone, calling Trump’s campaign, “Access Hollywood” and NBC for reaction.

By 4 p.m., his story was causing shock waves.
Quote:
Fahrenthold, a 16-year veteran of The Post, said he knows who pointed him to the “Access Hollywood” video, but he will not reveal the identity because he promised anonymity to his tipster. But like many readers, he said he was surprised and shocked by what he saw on the tape.

“It’s rare to find out something new about Donald Trump,” said Fahrenthold, who has produced scoops about Trump’s charitable foundation this year. “So much of his past and his history is well known.”

But this was new, he noted: “It’s not just, ‘Look at her; she’s a 10,’ the kind of thing he used to say on the ‘Howard Stern Show.’ It was more than that. He tells you about his behavior.”

As it happens, Fahrenthold was racing to produce his story in competition with “Access Hollywood” itself. The syndicated show, owned by NBC Universal, had found the Trump recording in its archives and was preparing its own story. NBC News, tipped by “Access Hollywood,” was also aware of the tape and was preparing a story, which it intended to broadcast after the entertainment show aired the recording. It was not clear, however, when “Access Hollywood” and NBC News were planning to go ahead with their stories.

Fahrenthold’s calls to NBC and “Access Hollywood” on Friday sped up their timetables. MSNBC reporter Katy Tur reported on the tape about seven minutes after The Post broke the story online.

Fahrenthold’s story proved to be the most concurrently viewed article in the history of The Post’s website; more than 100,000 people read it simultaneously at one point on Friday. The interest was so heavy that it briefly crashed the servers of the newspaper’s internal tracking system.

Talking about sexually assaulting (groping and grabbing) women is not just some random banter between two men. You should be ashamed.

A 30 year GOP member submits his resignation letter. Oh the burn.

https://goplifer.com/2016/07/22/resignation-letter/

At the national level, the delusions necessary to sustain our Cold War coalition were becoming dangerous long before Donald Trump arrived. From tax policy to climate change, we have found ourselves less at odds with philosophical rivals than with the fundamentals of math, science and objective reality.

The Iraq War, the financial meltdown, the utter failure of supply-side theory, climate denial, and our strange pursuit of theocratic legislation have all been troubling. Yet it seemed that America’s party of commerce, trade, and pragmatism might still have time to sober up. Remaining engaged in the party implied a contribution to that renaissance, an investment in hope. Donald Trump has put an end to that hope.

From his fairy-tale wall to his schoolyard bullying and his flirtation with violent racists, Donald Trump offers America a singular narrative – a tale of cowards. Fearful people, convinced of our inadequacy, trembling before a world alight with imaginary threats, crave a demagogue. Neither party has ever elevated to this level a more toxic figure, one that calls forth the darkest elements of our national character.

With three decades invested in the Republican Party, there is a powerful temptation to shrug and soldier on. Despite the bold rhetoric, we all know Trump will lose. Why throw away a great personal investment over one bad nominee? Trump is not merely a poor candidate, but an indictment of our character. Preserving a party is not a morally defensible goal if that party has lost its legitimacy.

Let's say Trump throws in the towel, as he should, what likely course do you see the GOP taking to try and present some sort of candidate who can challenge Clinton?

Obviously, not much of a chance now for anyone, but I think it would be fascinating to see what they do in that scenario.

And then.....does Johnson/Weld become any more relevant? I see not knowing what Aleppo is far less damning than the pockmarks now on both Trump and Clinton.

If his actions reflect his statements, he admitted to sexually assaulting people. That is as horrifying as the whole Bill Cosby scandal. The difference in this case is that a bunch of pathetic and deplorable people are defending it and/or trying to minimize it for varying reasons.

It is pretty f'ing far from okay and there is absolutely no excuse. Period.

Statements like that are vile, disgusting and completely reprehensible.

Early voting has already started. They can't replace just replace him because he's acting like an #######

Even if he quit, (which, considering his ego, he'd never do) they can't just move over votes that have already been cast for him.

edit: here's an article on this situation

Fundamentally you're right. This shouldn't be a shock.

However, while everyone knew he's a misogynist that treats women like objects his words cross the line from regular old women are second class citizens to assault. To complete ownership by a rich star. This is Cosby with an old rich white guy instead.

It also ends up lending far more credence to the recent lawsuits and that's what people are going to see and say "is this not just words? Has he done this for real". Well the decent people anyways so about 75% of the voting population. The other 25% are the deplorables and we will see on Election Day how many join them.

As far as Trump leaving goes, GGG probably put forth the best case scenario for quitting: Stay in, but tell everyone he will immediately resign after the election and Pence becomes President. But I don't think that can work, the cult element will never vote Pence, they hated Pence initially but eventually accepted him because they had no choice. I think they stay home in that scenario, leaving no chance to win anyway.
