For pretty much the same price too!

They just like the fact that he's a 4th OA.

The oilers vision is to build a team of entirely 5th OAs or better. Sorry Nurse, you gone.

And they paid roughly the same acquisition cost it took for us to nab Hamilton as the difference between 45+52 and 33 is marginal at best. The Oilers really, REALLY needed to move those picks for a PROVEN solution, not older magic beans. This is just beautiful.

That's one swing and a miss for the Oilers new, amazing GM who is destined to turn it around because he and McDavid "change everything". Now I guess they start shopping 2016-1st, Nurse and Drysaddle? Better get some actual NHL players next time, Chia Pet.

I hope Dougie crushes McDavid in their first head 2 head...

Can someone boot up NHL 15 and tell me if the game would make this trade without a gm getting laughed at?

I did that a few minutes ago, and it actually went through. The Bruins said "we think we got the better end of the deal," so now we know that even in a video game the Bruins are that dumb.

Was at a draft party all night so I've not really had time to comment/think properly. Just sat down with a cold drink in the living room and realised how great this trade is for us right now.

"Trader Brad" definitely should be a thing.

Gio-Engelland
Brodie-Hamilton
Russel-Wideman

Match lefties to eighties and roll 3 D lines. That makes me drool.

It's not a bad plan. But no way Engelland gets first pairing.

I would keep Gio and Brodie together. Paired up they are work 7 mil each. Separated 5 mil each :-) . They make each other that much better.

The only reason it's first pairing is because Gio is there. 1a/1b/1c in my opinion.

I have not personally seen Hamilton play a whole bunch. Can anyone comment on his shot? Would sure be nice to have another cannon on the pp, but 6'5" means nothing for shot power (see bouwmeester)

My mind refuses to accept this good fortune. I'll probably need to see his next contract to even start wrapping my head around this. I'm not even sure why I think that will help.

Apparently Boston had "at least" four much better offers for Hamilton.

I'm starting to think this trade was a big middle finger to Chiarelli trade.
