pretty odd for Lucic to come out and say this?

Dhiren Mahiban @dcmahiban
#NHLBruins F Milan Lucic confirms the #Canucks are one of 15 teams he's willing to waive his no-trade clause for.

Dhiren Mahiban @dcmahiban
Lucic says #NHLBruins still have not approached him about any type of trade.

That really surprises me. There were a few incidents after the Bruins won the Cup that made it seem he was pretty bitter towards his home town. Time heals, I suppose?

And Lucic, in one sentence becomes my most hated non- canuck player in the NHL.

As much as he seems to hate the Canucks, every player wants to play at home in front of friends and family.

I don't want lucic......doesn't mean I wouldn't buy a lucic sweater if he was a Canuck though.

Strickland makes a good point. With Lucic announcing his interest in going to Vancouver, he is likely to sign there in a year's time.

Except for Mike Green, it seems.

Lucic has roots there. Not sure why it's surprising someone wants to play in his hometown. I'd be surprised if he said he wanted to play for the Oilers.

Reading all the speculation and seeing how people are getting excited for potential trades, I really began to wonder. Why do we get so excited for trades and player movement? I don't know but 5:00pm can't come quick enough today... heck, end of tomorrow can't come quick enough... well, actually, July 1st... man, I need a time machine.

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

Fans expect more out of their hometown boys and ride them hard when they aren't the teams best player second in, second out. It is especially hard on the hometown boys parents to see and hear the fans in the stands or on the streets talking trash about their kid.

I recall Mike Vernon's parents, mom especially, had a hard time with that during the latter part of Vernon's 1st tenure in Calgary.

Plus you're constantly comping people tickets, doing them this favour, that favour and so on.

I'd rather get away as a player personally.

I'd never really thought about it like that before, I just assumed players would want to live near family and friends. I guess it probably depends on the player.

I don't get it. They are rebuilding, and he is on the last year of his contract....plus, he actually puts up some offensive numbers.

Not to mention, they are already way below the cap floor.

Is Gagner a poison pill or something?
