Whatever is ailing Hudler and Monahan, has to get sorted out. Those guys are not looking the same, not the same patience with the puck and seeing the ice they usually do.
Sick or still hurt from the LA game, the Flames need that top line doing what they do to create chances and team momentum. Emotion can carry only so far, even with a charged up Dome tomorrow, and the Flames walk a tight line at the best of times. The mistake on the opening goal doesn't happen, and only 1-0 through the first and second period, and the Flames win that. But 2-0 was a bit too much without the top line doing anything.

Hopefully having last change will allow Hartley to get some match-ups for the big line.

First Black Ace call up might happen soon.
Austin Carroll and the Victoria Royals got eliminated from the WHL playoffs last night.
It is possible he could go to Adirondack, but Addy's final game is tomorrow, so might just make sense to just call him up to the Flames.
Doubtful he gets into the line up at this point.

"That Ferkland, or whatever his name is," Bieksa said, "was running around trying to get something going. It’s not the first time we’ve seen that in playoffs. We’ve played against Ben Eager and some other dumb-dumbs like that before. We know how to handle that."
the bad news is ferkland knows who you are, he probably even knows your number too

Yep, this team is going nowhere if Monahan and Hudler especially keep playing the way they have.
Mostly though the team needs some goddamned shots. Vancouver's defense is unspectacular infront of the net and Eddie Lack is still just Eddie Lack, despite the 'legend'.
After Bollig crashed the crease, the most effective moment of the night, no one went back there for the rest of the game. Unconscionable.
Net front presense, shots for rebounds. Not rocket science.

i thought i was going to have an aneurysm if I saw another "no look soft tap blind back pass"
and hudler looked he was fighting the puck all game long, flames were falling all over the place too... just a bad game...
luckily we did get the split, which was all i was hoping for... but they need to step up.
the Dome will be absolutely nuts on Sunday, so hoping they get some energy from that.

At their best the Flames rely on passing and they haven't been able to get passes through so far.

Hudler and Monahan have to get on the scoreboard. Johnny has been trying to make things happen but those 2 are banged up and so far have been non threats.

Haha this totally needs the Heisenberg "say my name" meme.
Honestly, Bieksa is one of those dum dums he speaks of. There isn't a sorer loser in the league than him. When the Canucks are losing bad, he starts running around looking for the softest match up in a fight.
Ferland must see his old junior linemate in Brandon making a name for himself in Ottawa and he wants in on the action too. I wanna see him pop a couple of goals in Game 3. Kid has been the best forward for the Flames so far in this series.

Flames vs Hughson's Canucks is such an accurate title.
Hughson has very little unbiased integrity as a play by play commentator when his love affair with Canucks is involved.

The Hamhuis thing is just weird to me.
I don't see why he would lie about being called in by the official to help deal with Engelland. There's no point to it. If that didn't happen, it would be pretty easy for the official to say, "that didn't happen".
Meanwhile, if he was there because he was asked to be... why did he get tossed?
Anyway, this is going to put some serious ice time pressure on the top 3 guys (as if there wasn't enough already) unless they rescind the instigator.

I thought the game was tilted because we made too many soft or blind passes in the offensive zone which ended our attack rather quick.
If we can keep our head up and make a pass to a open guy then we should get more chances.

Did anyone post the Bieksa quote where he says "I'm not sure what happened with the penalties, but hopefully we'll see Mason Raymond next game"?
Bieksa now making lineup decisions for the Flames...

and how awesome would it be if Bob puts him in and he scores a couple. One of them would have to thank Kevin for the lineup suggestions

Good to see it took the Canucks and there "fans" only 1 game to suddenly become cocky and arrogant again. You would think that after all the success they have had in the playoffs the last few years, including what?? 10-11 straight playoff losses.... they are right back to the unlikeable Dbags we know and love (to hate).
Keep flapping your lips Bieksa, or having your players jumping into fights as the third man in.
Can't wait to get this series back home.
