Per source, Dennis Pitta has a hip fracture. Really bad news. He's out for the year. Ed Dickson's presence becomes big.

Losing Maclin sucks, but this isn't the Eagles of throwing the ball every single play like with Reid. His loss will hurt initially but the Eagles will find a way.

Really disappointed to read Greg Jennings comments about Aaron Rogers, as I have always thought of GJ as a consumate pro. Then he goes off and tries to throw AR under the bus about his leadership. Sad. And wrong...and his new head coach agrees that he is off base,

Quote:
Jennings' sentiments built throughout the offseason, starting innocently when he refused to call Rodgers by his name and continuing on ESPN's "First Take," when he said he favors Brett Favre over Rodgers because "you get respect when you give respect." Most recently, he had this to say about Rodgers while speaking to the Star Tribune: "A lot of times when you have a guy who creates that spotlight for himself and establishes that and takes a lot of that, it becomes so-and-so and the team. It should always be the team."
Quote:
"That's not something that we're high on," Frazier said, reiterating what he earlier told KFAN-100.3, "and he and I are going to talk before we practice [Saturday afternoon]. I've got to grab him. That's not how we do things. We'll talk. We're going to talk about it. He has strong feelings regarding his former team, and that's good. But there is a way to get that communicated, and we've got to sit down and he and I have got to talk a little bit."
Have fun catching passes from Ponder or Cassells or whoever ends up as QB for those sad sacks Greg.

While I normally love to see me some drama in GB I don't buy what Jennings had to say about Rodgers. AR seems like a real pro when it comes to how he handles the team and the media. I wish the Vikings had a guy like that taking the snaps. I do like Jennings as a player though and hope that Frazier gets him straightened out.

Didn't the Packers offer Jennings more money last year than he got from the Vikings this year, but he turned it to and bet on himself and lost. Basically the reverse Joe Flacco. He should probably keep quiet in this instance.

I would've prefer to have Dallas Clark, but I can absolutely see why they did this move.

Holy hell at the amount of guys who are already done for the year before even a preseason snap of football, Dennis Pitta (fractured hip and dislocated hip), Jermey Maclin (torn ACL and MCL), Dan Koppen (torn ACL), Aaron Berry, (torn ACL), Armon Binns (torn ACL and MCL), Jonas Mouton (torn ACL and MCL), and Tyrone Crawford (torn Achilles) Did I miss anybody?

49ers waive Darius Fleming.

Not a name anyone would recognize; he was a 5th round pick last year who tore his ACL in training camp. They kept him on the roster since they had high hopes for him and he was popular in the locker room.

This season he was back and promptly tore the same ACL.

Coming to a theatre near you....

Quote:
20th Century Fox has acquired the life rights to develop a feature based on the life of Kurt Warner, who went from stocking shelves at a grocery store for $5.50 an hour to become one of the most prolific passers in NFL history. The film will be produced by Temple Hill partners Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, and part of the rights package will include Warner’s autobiography All Things Possible: My Story Of Faith, Football And The Miracle Season.

Thoughts on potential casting choices? I like Greg Kinnear to reprise his role as Dick Vermeil like he did in Invincible.

The Saints FA acquisition Victor Butler tore his ACL back in OTA's. That really sucked

Anyone been to the Pats' Gillette Stadium? I'll be in Toronto for business in the middle of November and I plan on attending the Nov 24 Broncos vs Pats Sunday night game. But I'm baffled about the logistic (flying vs driving from Toronto to Boston).

And.....ouch

Now that Seahawks receiver Percy Harvin has decided to have surgery to repair the slight tear in the labrum in his hip, he’s wasting no time to get it fixed.

Per a league source, Harvin will have surgery on Thursday in New York.

While one of Harvin’s tweets could be read to imply he won’t play at all in 2013, we’re told that Harvin is expected back late in the season.

All true...also true, they traded a first, third and seventh round pick for a guy who may not even play this year or might not contribute much if he does, and is now clearly an injury prone player. That trade hurts even if it doesn't crush their chances this year.

The good news is that the injury is apparently relatively minor and although the time off is looking to be substantial the prognosis is that he should make a full recovery for the playoffs. If the 'Hawks make the Superbowl with his help a time or two the investment will be worth it.

Logistics of getting to Gillette? It's not anywhere close to downtown Boston, but there are ways to get out there. I've never taken the train as I have friends who live near the stadium, but apparently it's not too bad of a trip. Looks like it'll drop you off 30-40 minutes before kick-off and leaves 30 minutes after the game. If you drive out there's quite a bit of parking, but traffic can be pretty nuts so allow time on either end for that. It's a nice stadium, but it's kind of weird as it's basically surrounded by a mall. Picture crossiron mills with a stadium.

The group of receivers they had last year did alright as Wilson got better. the likes of Tate, Sidney Rice, Baldwin.

Of course now we have this...

Rice_going_to_Switzerland_for_bad_knee

Good QB's make so so receiving cores adequate...Wilson might need to continue progressing with whats left. Certainly they didn't make that Harvin trade because they expected rookies to step up and become impact players as receivers. Which might now need to happen.

"Hangin'" with Mr. Cooper sounds like it may not just mean having a good time...

Eagles WR Riley Cooper at a Kenny Chesney concert: "I will fight every Ni**er here!"

Video is NSFW, obviously.
