I watched 'My Penguin Friend' as a palate-cleanser but....God as my witness I thought Jean Reno was going to teach a Penguin to become an Assassin.

'My Penguin Friend' was good...I liked it and all...

But man...a firearms wielding Penguin on a mission of Vengeance just would have been so much cooler.

Ed Wood would have turned 100 today so go watch one of his movies, or watch the movie made about him. It's one of my favourites.

Rewatched Body Double after picking up the fancy new 4K steelbook.

Classic De Palma. Sleazy, over the top, artsy, and ridiculous.

The Frankie Goes to Hollywood Relax scene is an all-timer.

De Palma is one of my favorite directors ever and Body Double is one of my favorite movies of his. How does the new 4K scan look and sound? I was debating upgrading my Blu ray but there are so many titles dropping right now it's getting hard to keep up.

speaking of Brian De Palma, I watched Phantom of the Paradise for the first time last night. So over the top, ridiculous and fun. Perfect pre-Halloween viewing:

Watched a few "spooky" flicks this weekend:

Salem's Lot (remake) on HBO: meh, zero character development or plot building but kind of a fun cheesy movie

Caddo Lake (HBO): Not really scary but interesting concept, decently well done. Don't want to say too much, better off not knowing much going in.

Oddity - now this was quite good. Some good scares and executed very well. The director really knew what they were doing from the beginning.

Just got back from Terrifier 3, best one so far.

Love that they made it as a "Christmas movie" and released it during Halloween season.

Art the Clown is so good.

Watched the old 80s movie, “Sleepaway Camp”. It was in the so bad, it’s good category. I always remembered seeing it in video stores and everything about the VHS packaging scared the crap out of me, so I never watched it. But kind of on a 80s binge and found it on Tubi. Turns out this is like “Troll 2”, but with what seems like 1980s level Canadian production quality.

I watched Wes Craven's New Nightmare this weekend. It's an interesting spin on the Freddy movies with the cast and crew of the original playing themselves, but I didn't like the new makeup. He looked like the Hobgoblin.

I wish they made more use of Robert Englund. You find out he's haunted by Freddy too but then you never see him again. Why would they not shoot a fight scene between them? It would have been epic.

I am struggling about half-way through Alien: Romulus.

These absurd English accents are really ruining this movie.

They're smart. They get the Halloween crowd for the theatre and the Christmas crowd when it's released on streaming in a couple months.

The scariest thing about the 2 sequels is how much money the Blu rays go for on eBay.....

A coworker went in blind to see Terrifier 3 last night, he was completely unaware of what these movies are and had never seen the first or 2nd. Had no idea.

He looked shellshocked this morning, it was hilarious, he was making comments about how disrespectful and disgusting it was. Holy #### that made me laugh.
