Saw they were offering Fleury + 2nd and have not had any takers. This saves them over $5 mil on cap.

Assuming the Flames are okay with Fleury as at least a 1b these next two years, on the surface this looked really solid for the Flames. I do think they might as well test the waters on some of the UFAs and other goalies potentially available, but if they strike out there (or more importantly the goalies want too much), then I think this is an easy yes for the Flames.

And it's not even that bad from Vegas' perspective because of the actual money and how coronavirus could shift the importance of funny-money cap-hits to be far less important than cold-hard cash.

If his signing bonus this year has been paid, Lucic only has 10M left for the remaining three years, Ryan 3.125M for his last year. Fleury is owed 12.5M over two years, Stastny another 5.5M. This deal doesn't just save them 5M cap this year, but 5M in cash while getting an extra year of service from Lucic (for better or worse...) compared to Fleury. Plus Reeves and Lucic on the same team could be bash brother-like.

I'd sure like to understand why Josh Anderson regressed to 1 goal, 4 points (26 games) and some unappealing advanced stats before seeing the Flames giving up much of anything for the guy. Sounds interesting as a reclamation project and that's about it.
