Let the Ukraine army figure out how best to deploy them. They've shown time and again their ingenuity and adaptability.
Against soviet armor in the Gulf War, the Abrams was a beast. Nine Abrams were destroyed in the war. Seven to friendly fire, and two were destroyed to prevent them falling into enemy hands. Bradleys were pretty good too. 28 destroyed/damaged, with 20 due to friendly fire.
Abrams tanks took direct shots from T-72s and reported minimal damage. I'd have to assume the Challengers and Leopards are going to be fairly tough to stop as well.
The Russian conscripts are not going to have an enjoyable spring.

Spring time in Eastern Europe is going to be insane.
Ukraine is going to want the lighter tanks because that place is going to turn into a mud pit.

From what I've read the US tanks really aren't a great solution. I reading that they require extensive training to operate/maintain and use a lot a fuel. Probably better to trade some to a NATO ally in return for them supplying more Leopards no?

I am not a zipperhead but I seem to recall the Abrams run best on Jet fuel. I think they can run other fuel, ie: diesel, but the most fuel economy comes from jet fuel

Leopard 2 & Challenger 2 run on diesel, easier supply chain.
I'd leave the Abrams in and around Kiev.
Make no mistake the Challenger 2 and Leopard 2 are superiors to anything Russia has deployed in great numbers.
Also hear are Leopards & Abrams at work

How does the T-14 armata compare to them? As far as I know the Russians really only have enough of those to show them off at a parade.

Abrams isn't a magic solution tank and it regularly comes in near dead last in global tank competitions because it isn't designed to be used that way.
Its designed to be used in a combined arms strategic offensive within the construct of the US Army which requires planning, coordination, and support from all sorts of other vehicles and infantry advancing together. That's the part that you can't just export.
Saw a clip on CNN about the CIA director visiting Zelensky a couple days ago and then read another article about Zelensky doing a bit of a purge at the top levels in his government (https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...officials-exit) shortly after. Maybe the US putting their own people in place in Ukraine government? Too conspiratorial?

Might be a bit tough for a Texan or Midwesterner to hide their accent if they become the Ukrainian Minister of Tourism.
I am glad to see that once Canada formally enters this war, there will be so many people from this page volunteering for service.
Why do dummies (such as yourself) keep advocating for civilians to go to war? How would Jim from accounting know how to turn on a tank, much less drive it?
Should civilians do civilian stuff and soldiers do soldier stuff?

Predictable response, Hurl childish insults. Once volunteers are trained they are no longer civilians, dont worry, you wont be sent to fight without training first.
Why would Canada formally enter this war? Still reading dumpster news telling you the 2nd largest army in the world is actually fighting with one arm tied behind their backs? Look out NATO here comes Russia, everything was a feint up until now.
