I can see CLB trading one of Sillinger or Johnson, but not both.

Ya with Monahan signed for a while now, Fantilli, and now Lindstrom, it wouldnt surprise me if Sillinger gets moved, especially as an RFA

I'd like Sillinger as a Flames. I wanted him when they drafted Coranato. Admittedly, I haven't watched him as much in CLB, but I did watch him lots in his Bantam years, as he played with my neighbour and also lived a few houses down the street from me. Back then he had a non-stop motor, and was ALWAYS ALWAYS working and training. Summer he'd be on his roller blades with the parachute, and then shooting/etc.

I’m with you- Sillinger was one of my faves in that draft as well. I have been saying for awhile that I would love to get either him or Johnson.

It's easy to forget that Sillinger just turned 21 in May and last season was his 20 year old season because he already has 3 NHL seasons under his belt.

I agree with the reasoning on those trades but I think Nashville will be looking to try to get (young) players and not just picks for Askarov, I thought I had seen that mentioned before.

I'm in the Debbie Downer camp in that I don't think we'll get a decent prospect for retention (unless we add somewhere). I would love to be proven wrong.

In that case, throw in a 2026 2nd or something to get that young C. I trust in Conroy and our scouts ability to pick out talent.

^^ No, you're right. Likely a pick. 4th or 5th rounder. Something like that

Conroy hasnt once yet added a young center with all the assets he traded away so I hope he can finally snag one before the Flames open for camp.

Its just weird that he said a young center is/was his top priority before the deadline madness began and came up with nothing.

Well teams are not going to give those players away, and he had a age group 18-23.

We are going to have to draft those guys.

I think Sillinger's value has also declined. He's approaching Bennett value.

If anything, IMO we are asking for pretty little to stir the drink here.
He just got 32 points in his 20 year old year in the league.

Kent Johnson in the same draft class was on pace for less points.

Brandt Clarke in the same draft class has not even really made the NHL.

Beniers in the same draft class just had a similar season to Sillinger last year.

I suspect Sillinger’s value has held nicely and he would be picked around the same spot in a redraft.

None of them came over in those trades and who knows if they were even on the table or not.

I'm just saying there may have been options within the same trade to maybe snag one from Dallas or Vegas or NJ or Vancouver.

I mean, Vancouver probably would have moved Raty
