To add, even if you're a UCP Kool Aid drinker... an NDP-led party may actually force the UCP to make changes or encourage another option in the future. Just blindly voting encourages the party you've always supported more entitled.

So based on this thread I should bet on NDP over 55 seats? Seems like a sweep in Calgary and Edmonton...and let's face it the rest of the province doesn't count.

I can't see the UCP winning any urban seats. Even if the NDP campaign is we're not Danielle Smith...they'll gain votes in the next 28 days because Dmith will find ways to alienate everyone.

- Lowered the minimum wage for workers under 18 (Brutal move from the worker’s point of view but also put business owners at risk of having a human rights complaint filed against them if they were naive/greedy enough to pay their employees the reduced wage)

- Bought a pipeline (The project was cancelled as expected and the taxpayers are out over $1B)

There’s more but are you not seeing a trend in who their policies are designed to help? Hint: It’s not the majority of people who live here.
I just have to add one item

successfully procured NSAID: $88 million for Alberta "private label" TylenNOT that cannot be sold outside of Alberta

It depends on if you count, Ft Mac, Grand prairie, Airdrie, Red Deer, Lethbridge or Medicine Hat as urban or not.

Of the 87 seats there are 26 with Calgary in the name and 20 with Edmonton. Add in some burbs and it's around 2/3rds of the seats. I would think the population is more like 75 to 80% in those seats....but that's uneducated white colonial era highscool education me making that guess.

For the purpose of my statement I do not. Calgary-Edmonton plus places like St.Albert/Airdrie types that are within 20km of the city.

Funny enough, that is how I feel. I am caught in between the two.

Edit: To be fair, I consider myself undecided and will be seriously looking at policy's the next couple of weeks.

I'm not conflicted at all. This election comes down to only two parties - the NDP and the UCP. The UCP have beyond proved that they are terrible fiscally, terrible socially, divisive from our fellow Canadians, out of touch with Canadian and provincial political policy, seditious, straight up criminal in their defiance of Canadian law, and extremely dangerous to the long-term prosperity, credibility and economic health of this province. Everything that Yoho, StickMan and ShotIntheBacklund have complained about the NDP for, the UCP has done 10x worse damage to this province.

If there was a third, credible option like the Alberta Party, I'd vote for them (like I have in the past), but the AP is far from credible at this point. From here on in, for me, there is clearly one logical choice, and it is the party that is on par with the former Lougheed conservatives - the NDP.

Also, 'takes orders from Jagmeet/Trudeau'... lol.

I have one. Supporting and fraternizing with individuals that were considered leaders of the “freedom convoy”. Am I doing this correctly?

Unfortunately some parts of south calgary are going to be a problem for the NDP I think. I hope i’m wrong though.

The only place I see UCP winning over the NDP is in relation to gun control and fighting the federal government against it. I see a lot of UCP voters voting for them for just this one specific reason alone.

It really depends on your definition of rural. I would say anything within a 40 minute drive of downtown Edmonton or Calgary is urban. Let be honest, these people work, shop and spend their free time in the city. Likewise, I would call any city over over 60,000 urban.

Taking up Sylvan Fan's math. 46 seats are split between Calgary and Edmonton and another 14 fall into small cities or suburbs. That makes 60/87 urban over rural.

Definitely. Apart from Calgary-South East which is a massive UCP stronghold, I think Calgary-Hays is up there as one of the most conservative in any urban center. Good luck getting Ric McIver out.

I would say the biggest thing is anxiety about the Oil and Gas economy.

I joked about Notley signing a novelty sized contract, but in all reality she might have to drink fracking gew to prove that she is pro oil and gas.

I bet he’s happy it got done before the election so Smith can Pardon him before she is out of office. I don’t like it but these provincial pardons are always political when they happen at the end of terms.

1000% this.

There is no choice election.

I voted for multiple parties in my voting lifetime. The choice for AB NDP is crystal clear this time around. The UCP are ridiculously corrupt AF, bad for democracy, bad for anyone accept themselves.

Prove all those bad things you say about the ucp. Isn't that how we function on this page? You can't say anything without hours of research and links to back it up?

And the Provincial and Federal NDP are basically one party Jagmeet appreciates your vote.

Convince me to vote NDP. What is one good thing that could come from another NDP government in Alberta?
