I don't know what happened to Laine innCLB but he has outright said he will never play in CBJ again. Waddell is trying to manage things but at the end of the day he kind of in a corner.

I welcome any sort of move we could make here, tbh. Confident that management is doing what's best for us right now.

Would love Sillinger. Could see Conroy wanting him too. He was apparently high on the flames list in that draft and got picked just before Calgary could get him. They were likely happy to get Coronato anyways but I could see Conroy still wanting to get him.

So low that they pay us significantly to take him.

I don't know really know CBJ's needs, but I wonder if there's anything possible around us taking on some of Laine's cap for assets plus a larger component of swapping Rasmus for younger, hopefully centers + prospects/picks.

The Flames using their cap space to retain on Laine in a 3-way trade in return for an extra asset? I'd be thrilled with that.

If the Flames are retaining on Laine as a 3rd party, the return has to be pretty solid as it leaves the Flames with a single retention spot for the next 2 seasons.

Yes. With all these wingers we need another wing position per line.

Laine won't be, but will part of his cap hit?

Gotta think Sillinger is the guy the flames want. Maybe now that St. Louis has swung first on offer sheets, just the threat of one helps push a deal with Columbus.

21 year old C with pedigree could be a ice fit for the Flames, he could come here and 'pop'
Probably just some salary retention on Laine though would be my guess, which is just fine too. Especially since the Flames are rumored to not be willing to that cheaply.
