Looks like Richie Hall is done in Edmonton
The Journal speculates that Winnipeg Blue Bombers defensive co-ordinator and assistant coach Kavis Reed may be the front-runner to replace Hall while the Edmonton Sun is reporting that Hall could soon be re-hired by the incoming head coach as the Eskimos defensive co-ordinator.
Good...grab a coach from the worst team in the league!

Special Teams: Burke Dales

I am a little surprised Claybrooks made the All-Star because he sat out at least 4-4 games this season but I guess he played well everytime he plays so I guess that's the reason why he made it.
I am not surprised that Burke Dales is the only one that made the All Star for Special Teamers. Our ST were terrible this season. They can't block, they can't cover and our returner is afraid of getting hit. He would rather go out of bounce so he doesn't get hit rather than try to get more yardage. It sucks that other teams can find someone like Thigpen, Tristan Jackson, Yonus Davis and so on but Stamps cannot find anyone even close to those guys. Is it the special team conservative coaching philosophy or we can't just find a good returner? Makes me wonder if Deon Murphy will ever play again after his comment before Huf replaced him with Talley. Murphy mentioned that he always look to run out of bounce to keep him healthy and stay in the league for a long time. Is he kidding? He's a rookie and hasn't really shown much. He's worried about not getting hit a lot? I think he is in the wrong sports.
As for the Semi-Final games. It would be a great pleasure if BC can upset the Riders. I don't care if the Stamps lost to BC the last 2 games at McMahon this season. I don't think the reason BC beat the Stamps were because they outplayed them. It was more like the Stamps took them lightly and they beat themselves on both games. I am just not comfortable playing vs the Riders as Durant and receivers seems to get pumped up every time they play the Stamps.

Three Stamps up for Player of the Year Awards:
Henry Burris is up for Most Outstanding Player of the Year against Anthony Calvillo.
Ben Archibald is up for Offensive Lineman of the Year against Marwan Hage of Hamilton.
Juwan Simpson is up for Defensive Player of the Year against Markeith Knowlton of Hamilton.

Archibald and Simpson should win but I think they will give it to Knowlton.
No way the voters give it to Burris now even though Calvillo missed so many games.

Burris would have to go undefeated through 18 or put some kind of yardage or touchdown record to beat Calvillo for MOP. If Burris didn't win in '08 there is no way the voters give it to him this year. Calvillo could have played 10 games and still got the award handed to him.

Burris and Archibald will defintely win it this time because they got robbed before. The voters will try to amend with their mistakes from the past. As for Juwan Simpson, I know he deserves to win this award but the voters will give it to Knowlton since they don't want one team winning 3 individual awards. Stala will win the Most Outstanding Canadian while Chad Owens of the Argos will win the Special Team award.

Kevin Glenn has to be the biggest choke QB ever. Has his team in field goal range to tie it and throws a pick.
I remember when Bombers fans used to overrate him. Now Hamilton will be soul-searching this offseason.

I dunno how much blame Glenn should take for that one. He hit Bruce in the hands, and Bruce couldn't pull it down.
Bruce played like ass today. Couldn't catch a cold.

While I agree with that, the throw was a bit high. They shouldn't have been throwing the ball at that point anyway. Screen pass or run would have sufficed nicely - they were looking at a 48-yard FG anyway.

That's Glenn for you.
Good looking stats, very few points, .500 record and comes up small when it is time to make a big play.

Personally, I would have just given Sandro the green light to punt it. Go for the OT, and play from there. Sandro has booted FG's from the 50's when he was with the Stamps. Poor play calling.

To play devils advocate though, I can understand why they had no faith in Sandro.
His longest FG this year was 45 yards. And he missed a 17-yarder earlier in the game - those 3 points sure came up huge.
Not saying they made the right call to pass there...just saying I can understand why it happened.
He's not an elite kicker right now.
Oh and on another note...Cleo Lemon becomes the worst CFL QB to win a playoff game.

You mean other than Ricky Ray? RR hasn't been very good, as he got bailed out by Maas a few years ago. Still think he's a ty QB.

Yea Ricky Ray is big-time overrated but he was still good enough to win 2 Grey Cups. Cleo Lemon is just awful. He threw for 134 yards today. Can you imagine how bad the Argos would have been without Cory Boyd and Chad Owens this year?
