Some rumblings that he may head back to Boulder as the hand picked (Bill McCartney) savior of the Colorado football program.
He will not leave LSU unless 1) his contract expires, 2) he gets fired. He has a huge buyout and he isn't about to take a lower level job just because some hippies in Boulder want him to.
Boulder isn't even near the level of job that Miles would even take. That is more of a young head coach looking to prove himself and a 2nd rate D1 Program now, type of school

Just so surprised on how loud Autzen is when they are about 30-40k smaller than the other comparable stadiums. I can say that it sure is pretty.

Bill McCartney is not a hippie.

Dude, it doesn't matter. Going from LSU to Colorado isn't even a latterial step, it's a huge step down. With the cash, weather, and players that he can get at LSU I don't think he would even think about going to CU.
I can see Michigan but not CU, the only way Les is leaving LSU is if he's fired. They wont fire Les unless he has a 4 loss season or the wheels fall off with the rest of the games left on the schedule.
Colorado needs to go after a guy like Kirby Smart, or Muschamp (if Texas doesn't lock him up) or Mullen. They will not get a big name prime coach to go up there and play in the pac 12 when they are going to be the baylor of the pac12.
They might get a coach that is past his prime like a Spurrier or Bowden to go there but they will not get a big name that is at the top of his game.

Miles is a dandy, I was more excited about his arrival at LSU than most. He's going to win a lot of games, and his successes far outweigh his failures. Those failures are magnified and tend to overshadow the many, many games he has won due to his unconventional style.
There has always been an asterisk by his name with many LSU fans, his Michigan ties have always led people to believe Baton Rouge was just a quick stop on his way to Ann Arbor. Honestly, I don't see him going anywhere unless Rodriguez hits the bricks.

All I said is that he may be hand picked to be offered the job at the end of the year. Nothing more.
Since you know everything about college football, it is safe to assume that you know how close Miles and McCartney are and how Miles' time as an assistant at CU propelled his career. During his time at CU, where he was McCartney's top recruiter, they consistently were in the National Championship hunt. I'm pretty sure the guy can recruit to Boulder.
He's got a great job at LSU and probably won't leave. I get that. BUT....he may be about to get an offer that pulls very heavily on his heart strings and sometimes those kinds of offers outweight those that pull on the purse strings.
If there is any doubt about Miles relationship with McCartney I give you Sal's kid....

I understand, but this is a business decision and most people wouldn't take a step backwards. But Colorado wasn't going to be in the pac 10 when he was last in Boulder. It's going to be tough for who ever is there to keep up with the talent that USC, Oregon, OSU, Arizona, UCLA, Cal, well you get the idea.

My poor Wildcats getting thumped in Palo Alto... Sad Panda.
No chance at a Rose Bowl now, but the program is definitely heading in the right direction.
Pretty solid year for them still, I love Stoops as a coach and I hope they lock him up. The Pac whatever is starting to build a nice collection of younger promising coaches and it looks like the Pac whatever and SEC will be the two conferences that will be the big boys

My sister is a LSU alum, she hates the dude with a passion (as do I) but the guy just wins. It may not be pretty but it works. Plus he's just plain exciting to see what he will screw up this week and yet somehow pull a win out of it.

Ya, Stoops was on the hot seat a couple seasons ago before back-to-back bowls.

They are building a nice little program there, I hope that they don't fire him. I would love to see him in Florida as a Coordinator if you guys don't want him

How does the grass taste in Boulder? Les says Tiger stadium grass is the best...
Quote:
Asked about eating the grass in the postgame press conference, Miles said he does it every game. "Yeah, you know what I do," Miles said, "I've got a little tradition that humbles me as a man that let's me know I'm part of the field. It's going to be all over the Internet. You know what? You should have seen some games before this. I know one thing, the grass in Tiger Stadium tastes best."

I thought the Colt McCoy one should of been him holding a bag that had both the $ symbol and NFL Symbol on it while he watches Gilbert play in the title game...

Hard to imagine he could stay eligible up to the NC game. What a mess the NCAA has on their hands.
Well, they might as well play him anyways. If he is in fact found guilty they will have to forfeit the wins that they had with him playing.
Things have been weird to say the least, There were rumors that he took money before the season and Auburn turned everything into the SEC.
But with the "favorable" (to say the least) that Auburn has gotten this year have raised some suspicions. Don't forget that the SEC head office and headquarters is located just up the road from Auburn and Alabama in Birmingham. The SEC seemed to me like they swept it under the rug hoping that this wouldn't be brought back into light.
with the way the Auburn fans are acting down here, I want Auburn to become the next SMU if the allegations are true.
