Almost forgot to check in here, good thing I did.

By now, I'm strictly picking movies that I want to see picked, disregarding some good movies that I'm sure will get picked.

For example, I recently saw this little gem again, and thought that this should really be a cult classic.

In the 10th round, Selfmade Heroes pick Reign of Fire (2002) in the Action category.

I'll explain myself later.

Christian Bale was hot in that movie.

There, no need to explain any further, Itse!

Mr.Smith Goes to Washington was my pr-60's pick. One of the very few of the era that I can watch beginning to end.

Since its my turn I'll take Road to Perdition and you can mark it in Thriller. Since thriller may be inappropriate it can alternatively be placed as my second wildcard. (I dont believe it to be an issue)

I'm excited for Prot's pick now!

I really loved Road To Perdition. One of my favorite Hanks roles.

Good pick, loved the cinematography in this one (always had a thing for the way curls of cigarette smoke can be romanticized in films with the right lighting). A bit surprised this went before American Beauty though...

Prototype, I am eagerly awaiting your pick too. You've got some hype to live up to buddy!

Dooz, if you liked MSGtW, I really recommend the equally good Mr. Deeds Goes to Town.....I mean, what more can you say about Gary Cooper as Deeds aside from wow! and really anything directed by Capra is usually excellent - in some ways it's like watching a Norman Rockewell painting on a tv screen.

Think it's time for an asskicking (and everyone waits breathlessly to see what Proto's pick is).

Very good. Will do. MSGtW is just the only one that I have seen.

Sorry guys, last night and today, I've had my ass kicked with the cold I thought I had gotten rid of.

I wont get too much into my pick, and I have to go back and make right with my other ones, but I hope you can understand my excitement that this one is still available...

And it isn't a documentary...

Easily the best action movie last year...

All of that.... For Transformers?!

note: I haven't actually seen it, though, so maybe I'm missing something!

Roboautodroidshifters? Really?

Megan Fox is hot thought (with the right make up and lightning and airbrush).

With our latest pick, we are proud to select, in the category of Music(al) (for now)... Anton Corbijn's fantastic tribute to one of the best and most important bands of all time... One of the best music films I've seen in a long, long time... Control

A lot to say about this movie... Corbijn is a celebrated rock photographer and as such, he brings his very sharp eye for aesthetics to a new medium with his first film. One of the most beautifully shot films you will see, each frame of Control could stand alone in most art galleries. Certainly in any Rock Photography collection.

Stirring performances by Samantha Mathis and especially from relative newcomer Sam Reilly, who not only delivers a gripping portrayal of Joy Division's tortured lead singer Ian Curtis, but holds his own in performing all of the JD songs used in the film. Unlike most films about rock stars, Control does a brilliant job of focusing in on the focal point of the story, Curtis, without sacrificing the equally as important story of the band itself, and helps to underscore their cultural importance. Adapted from Curtis' widow's novel, Control does a wonderful job of capturing the spirit of an era through telling one of the least understood, heaviest, and saddest stories in the history of music.
