Well that escalated quickly.
That sort of closer may work in the sticks of Milwaukee but this is the AL East.

One thing I'll say - the leadoff double that scored the go-ahead run for tbe Yankees? That's a fly-ball out once Varsho is back.

Anyway - nice to get the win and good to see some power.

Sucks for Berios to get a no-decision pitching 5+ shutout innings.

It has been 11 months since Bo Bichette last hit a home run in MLB.

That's 0 home runs in 250 PA's a batting average of .239 an OBP of .286 an a wRC+ of 70

He might be cooked

It's not ideal, but I truly believe Bichette has enormous natural talent and a good eye to get on base. You need him to hit home runs to get a home run of a contract that he wants, but as a guy to get on base he's still got it. I really wish he'd move to 2nd and just focus on his batting.

His on base percentage since late in the season 2023 is sub .300 thru 500+ plate appearances. Sure doesn't seem like he's still got it.

He’s an opposite field slap hitter now who doesn’t walk or hit for power or steal

He should prob be hitting 6-7 in a good lineup and getting paid as a 1-2 WAR player

He should start pulling the ball and forget this chasing outside pitches to hit oppo singles BS

Teams literally want him to hit those pitches because worse case it’s a single

Winds blowing out 20-25 MPH. Do we see any HR's from the Jays today? Be pretty bad if they don't

Is it favoring ant particular field? Maybe today is the day where Bo can loft a fly ball to right that rides the wind out. Only to go home and have that be a lazy can of corn.

Sigh. A ton of wasted opportunities already. This team hates scoring runs. It's their least favourite thing to do.

Ugly stuff from Gaus. Makes sense though. There is just so much pressure on the starters to be absolutely lights out for this team to have a chance.

Wow. Double header too so you’re gonna burn out the bullpen.
