Moncton goes up 3-0 in the series over Rouyn-Noranda, with a 4-3 win. Morin gets 1a, and was even, putting him in a tie for 12th-overall in playoff scoring, 10th-overall in plus/minus, and 3rd in scoring by D, with 12gp/1g/11a/12pts,+9, 4 PIM.
Shawinigan gets one back, making the series 2-1 in favor of Rimouski, with a 5-2 win. Gridin was named 3rd-star, with 1g, and a -1. So many times over the season, Gridin has been named to the three stars of the night, and many times- his stats in the game don't seem to be deserving of recognition. He must be doing A LOT to be getting noticed, and often when I watch highlights, that seems to be true- he seems to be in on everything. Anyway, he is 5th in Q playoff scoring, with 12gp/7g/8a/15pts,-2, 4 PIM.

My guess is because he is a possession monster and generates 4+ shots a game and I think is playing a tonne of minutes every game.

First and foremost he is a two way defender who plays in all situations. He has a great shot (big ole fashioned heavy slapper from the point), has good vision and tends to plays safe. Has a good amount of bite to his game also as he isn't afraid to play physical and step up on attackers who are entering the zone or who are protecting the puck along the boards. If you check his highlights, this tends to stand out.
As far as I can tell I would say it's a pretty safe bet he becomes an NHLer and a pretty effective one at that. He isn't flashy like Bru or Parekh but effective nonetheless. Solid #4 defender projection who can play PP2 and PK1.
For reference, I've seen him play live on multiple occasions (5+ occasions). He was more of a rover in the past but has really honed in on becoming a better two way defender. He now quietly takes over games if this makes any sense (right place right time, smart passes, good stick checks and lifts, etc.).

I've said it before, but Morin could very well be our best D prospect not named Parekh.

The one time I saw him play I saw a skater who was clearly a level above the CHL. Everything just looked too easy for him. Scored, had an assist, crushed a guy coming over the blue line and took the puck away from attackers any time they were on his side of the ice. I'd be willing to bet he'd be on the top pair for the Wranglers next year by the mid-way point.

I was at the game that they eliminated Québec on April 2nd and Morin was the best player on the ice for both teams. He was an absolute stud in that game. Was breaking up plays, making smart passes, taking away pucks. He was the first star in the game.
I also saw him play in November (also in QC) and he was great. If I remember correctly he had a few assists, a huge open ice body check and played a big game. Game ended like 7-5 I think for the Cats.
The Q is tough though. I was sure Ryan Francis was going to be a player and I was wrong.. Morin is aloooot more polished though and doesn't lack size nor speed like Francis did. Time will tell but I think we have a great player on our hands here.

Shawinigan ties the series with Rimouski, at 3-3, with a 5-1 win. Gridin is held pointless, and was -1, but he is still tied for 3rd in playoff scoring, with 15gp/8g/9a/17pts,-2, 6 PIM. Only 3 points in this series for Gridin so far.

Rimouski is hosting the Memorial Cup, so if they go to the QMJHL finals, then Morin and the Moncton Wildcats will get an automatic spot in the Memorial Cup as well.
If Shawinigan beats Rimouski, then Gridin/Shawinigan vs Morin/Moncton will be for both the QMJHL title and a spot in the Memorial Cup.
Either way, gaurantees a Flames prospect in the Memorial Cup

Moncton is pretty much a lock to win the Q title this year.
They are without a doubt the best team in the Q and maybe in the CHL. Insane depth throughout that lineup.

Jesus. Imagine being a wagon like Medicine Hat and then adding two thirds of a top line this late into the playoffs.
Their opponents are shaking, no doubt.
(granted, they've both missed a lot of time, especially Lindstrom)

His physical tools make him so intriguing
