I look forward to a future Boomer & Cami with Rhett (and/or Meagan) show.
I find Pinder tiresome.

It's the chemistry that makes the show great. If you didn't have him, you wouldn't get the same energy to trigger Boomer and Rhett.
Now just get those red Barnburner hoodies and the Halloween Minion socks on a T-shirt, and I'll be all set for Phx!

Ponder is good as a guy not afraid to call it how it is. We need way more of that in the fanbase and media.

His also a good research and stats guy. I think he brings a lot to the show. He also plays devils advocate a lot just to make discussion. You can’t just have 3 guys sitting around agreeing with each other for an hour.

exactly. You have a host (chair 1) and then chair 2 and chair 3.
When Pinder is Chair 1 he's different than when Boomer is in Chair 1.
And +1 for Cami. She rules.

Seriously? I'd say Pinder is by far the most important of the bunch. Boomer steers the ship, Pinder provides all the substance, Rhett is the relief.

Yep, they compliment each other perfectly as a trio. I bet they'd blow up as a podcast if they were doing it for a bigger sports team. Unfortunately, the Flames fan base is quite small and mostly dispassionate unless the team is on a playoff run.

For covering a small market team this group does extremely well for themselves. When I say extremely, you’d be surprised on the revenue. The Nation brand is massive for the markets they cover.
Barn burner is just one piece of the pie.

Is it? That's good to hear then. I guess I could slightly move the goalposts and say "blow up in terms of viewership", cause those numbers seem quite small.

I obv don't really follow the other Nation brands (oilers tangentially living here) but I wouldn't to surprised if the Barn Burner following was one of their more successful shows/pods.

Surprise me.
I talked about Barnburner with a friend in the media, and he estimated they make 3k a month, tops, from ad revenue. And that’s total, not each.
So what are the other sources of revenue?

I accept it’s just me. He’s good but I tire of the constant arguing, and talking over others. He will argue that it’s partly sunny and then argue it’s partly cloudy. I’ve listened to him browbeat Rhett and guests. He’s arguing right now with Frank about Nylander’s cap hit. Frank can stand up to him which has made it reasonable and has helped keep Pinder in his place. He doesn’t always listen and respond when the guest or Rhett makes a good point.
Sometimes he has talked like he knows what it’s like in the room. That’s what Rhett is really there for in my view. I have been frustrated when he takes over the comments about “in the room” segments and Rhett just gives up. I want to hear from the actual former player versus a guy that would be a 20 post a day CPer. Maybe a hot take. I like the behind the scenes/in the room perspective as it’s something I can’t get elsewhere.
Clearly I watch/listen despite my grumbling on Pinder so they are doing something right.

Is your friend suggesting their show makes $3,000.00 a month in revenue from ads?
If so, your friend is very wrong. It is much, much higher.

Their Youtube channel gets 3-4k views per video. I expect the podcast numbers are similar. How much do you think advertisers pay for spots on shows with audience numbers that small? The major sponsors might pay $500 a month. The smaller ones $200-300. This is a hobby for these guys.

My channel has over a million views and Ive made $800. So, I'm guessing they've probably made a total of 3k total off of just ad revanue since they started the channel, they have just over 3. 1 million views.

But they have their own local sponsors, which isn't the same as your standard YT ad revenue.

They are also doing their show at a time where local interest in the Flames is at its lowest in a long time. If the organization ever gets some good young players and starts building something, I would imagine business for them would be even better.

2-3k a month from Youtube alone seems about right. I'm sure they are doing ok for themselves and I hope they keep it going, I love the show.
