I’ve shovelled twice in Cochrane and it’s still coming down so bad it’s sticking…
Feels way more than “10cm”

Some of you guys are just addicted to shoveling or out to prove something. Zero degrees wet snow day? I did nothing and my sidewalk and driveway are already melted away.

I had 8-10” of snow. Yeah, it’s wet and heavy, but that’s not melting all that fast and I didn’t want it to freeze into ice.

I shovelled because it’s cheap easy exercise.

Shoveling snow kills more people per year than Sharks and Vending Machines combined.

Best leave it to the Professionals.

Lost a big part of one tree in my back yard and it’s made a 60 foot tree now a hazard so I need to call a tree removal service.
Any recommendations?

The snow snapped off two big branches on my old tree. Awesome neighbor with a chain saw helped me clear the branches, and the tree might survive.

I've used Adair Tree Care several times for both trimming trees and outright removal. Never had a problem with them, and they always had fair prices. Has been about 2 years since I last needed their services.

I shovelled because I have a North facing driveway, if I don't, I'll have a luge track by the beginning of the month.

I'm still not seeing a down-side here. It sounds like a combination of fun and an efficient method to dissuade teenagers and associated riff-raff from loitering.

Because it's neighbourly, because the people that do walk on my sidewalk don't need to walk through wet slushy snow for the hours that it's there. Because if you're home and don't do it, it's f'n lazy. Some of your neighbours might old, might have mobility issues and might still need to get out and about, get off your ass and do it for five minutes.

I had over a foot, since I shoveled it at 8am yesterday everything that's fallen since has melted. The people that didn't shovel at all yet, the fresh stuff isn't melting at all, just accumulating more and more.

We aren't getting an sun and the temperature is hovering around freezing. If you don't shovel the initial inches it's not going to go anywhere and in fact will start to ice and get hard.

I also have a game with one neighbour, he's in his late 70's, and whoever does each others shovelling first wins

Not like it's an established game or anything, but he's expressed his frustration at rarely ever being to get me back for doing his. In my mind that means I'm winning

I often play that game with my neighbour as well. I often let him win. It’s the nice thing to do.

Anybody know if the landfills/composter is accepting tree limbs after this snowfall? I had a large limb break off my spruce tree yesterday.
