Just because you don't legally have to, doesn't mean it's not the right thing to do.
Going to throw out a hot take: If Ken King (RIP) was still in charge this would not have happened.

Ya, this is pathetic, we should start a scene as STH and team supporters for these workers to receive more compensation during this event. Blanketed amounts not on an individual basis.

Infuriating. After the handout the taxpayers just gave this ownership group, they won’t even step up and look after their own in a time of crisis?

These guys have billions of dollars between them. Shame on them.

I wonder if the Flames would have paid them if they were still looking for their arena money. I suspect they would have in that situation.

There’s a lot of people who rely on that income. Good people.

And I’ve seen first hand how the Flames pinch pennies to an alarming extent. Basically, I’ve lost whatever little respect I had left for ownership with this move.

Teams that don’t step up are gutless and cheap and don’t deserve another penny. Disgusting behaviour.

Would they make more on EI or any federal aid package?

Definitely not EI. Hopefully the federal fiscal plan can accommodate these employees.

Fantastically poor reflection of ownership. Incredibly disappointing.

Although it's up to STH to decide what to do with their money, I hope that you guys hurt them where it matters to the owners by negatively effecting their pocketbook. Maybe then they will realize how terrible this looks, and do the right thing.

It's too bad that they would be doing this for PR purposes, rather than being considerate and understanding the situation. Shouldn't have even gotten to this point.

I really think less of the ownership due to this now. Embarrassing for a organization that claims it's such a contributor to the community.

I know this should be the owner's responsibility but this will also tell me more about the character of players in the room. Surely, guys like Giordano, Gaudreau, Monahan, Tkachuk, Backlund, and Lucic can do something about this and personally contribute.

I'm not a STH but I'll just toss this out there, contact your account reps hold their feet to the fire on this one. I'm not sure where you all are in your ticket renewal, but make this a non-negotiable if you can.

Lol. Just a straight up NO.

Goes to show you what Bean and all the owners think of their staff. “Rules are rules”, figure it out yourself

More like they do so much TO the community. This is pathetic. I'm ashamed to be a fan of this team right now.
