I don't know if the Jays would have had a chance with any of their other starters on the mound today to be honest. Sale's breaking ball is just insane, he is almost unhittable today. This game was over at 1-0.
LOL just as I type that EE smashes the biggest home run.
Man I suck.

Storen gives up a homer and a double right away. I know this game is over but the Jays need more from these relievers.
I like the Jays chances against Quintana tomorrow.

I didn't expect them to beat Sale tonight. Especially with Dickey on the mound.
Now last night, that's a game they should have won.

It's really time for Dickey to go, even if they get nothing in return. Thole competely limits the Jays bench and Dickey doesn't warrant taking up two roster spots.

I really don't care about whatever stat someone will throw out there to say otherwise, because stats don't tell the whole Story. In my mind the Jays picked up a swagger when they acquired David Price they hadn't had since the early 90s, and the minute their cheap Owners let him walk without even offering him a contract despite him being more than willing to stay that swagger went right out the window. The Jays are right back to where the they were the two years prior to landing Price. A .500 team that folds under pressure.
I'm not saying they even had to resign Price, but to do absolutely nothing and not reallocate any of those funds to find a replacement really sent a Message to this team. They know they only had a year timeline to win and it's affecting their performance.

I agree losing Price was a hit to the team overall, that said, put yourself in the owners shoes. I'm not sure I would have agreed to that contract either. Let's follow up with Boston in a couple years on that one and see how they like it. Also, Price didn't totally wow me into the playoffs last year. But I think he's a great regular season starter and I think you're right about the swagger comment, which is a factor too.

I don't know if I do the Price contract either, but I at least have the dialogue with the guy, and go after someone else to show the clubhouse you mean business after last year's season. All they did was reshuffle the chairs on the deck and hand out a short term contract to a B grade free agent. That feeling the team has last year after the deadline that management was trying to put them in a position to win it all was gone before spring training, and the swagger went with it. Add that to the writting being on the wall about EE's and Bautista's future with the team and in my opinion you have a bunch of guys not playing loose at all because they know this is their last chance as a group, and it's leading to poor performances all around.

Saw who was pitching for the Sox and didn't even bother tuning in. My iPad kept chirping that a run had been scored, not surprisingly by the Sox. Glad I didn't waste my time. Had a nap and watched the end of the Raps game instead.

First game of the year that the Jays got blown out. It was almost a good thing that pitching was so bad, because the Jays had no shot against Sale last night. Losing 2-1 might have hurt more than 10-1. Just move on to the next one.
Did anyone catch the Colabello interview with Jamie Campbell? I'm very torn on the situation as I usually believe guys when they say they didn't know how it happened. However the amount of denials and then admitting to it later that has happened lately makes me more cynical than I was in the past. The one thing I noticed was when Jamie asked for Colabello to say into the camera that he didn't do this on purpose (or something to that effect), he didn't actually respond and say "I didn't do this on purpose". Instead he had a longer flowing answer. It really makes me question the whole thing now.
