I don't think Sam should be exposed to a possible first round circus. He needs regular season experience under his belt.
Not sure why you think this - all of the current Flames and Sam would just relish the opportunity to play in the playoffs. The Flames will be the underdogs in any playoff scenario - so not so much pressure as just valuable experience.

1-0 North Bay on the powerplay.

I'll trust our management to decide if Bennett should play this playoffs. IIRC Iginla, Nieunwendyk, and Hull started their NHL careers in the playoffs.

Nieuwendyk had a few regular season games before the playoffs.

Hull made his NHL debut in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals in the Montreal Forum in 1986 (no pressure there).

Only reason I'd be hesitant to put Bennett into an NHL playoff game with zero to a handful of games of NHL experience would be that he plays a very in your face, chippy game. He's not yet filled out completely, and he's so intense that I don't think he'd care and would go all out and potentially injure himself again.

My view is the exact opposite.

Should the Flames make the playoffs, they are going to be massive underdogs and it will be, more than anything else, a learning experience.

I want Bennett there getting that experience just as much as I want to see Monahan, Gaudreau and Brodie get it.

If it happens, I will also trust Hartley to only put him in if he gives the team the best chance to win.

The step from Junior hockey to the Stanley Cup Playoffs is possibly the biggest and most overwhelming step a player could make. He just came off a massive injury and played just 11 games for the Fronts. He doesn't need to be slotted into a playoff series - Brad sent him down for a reason.

Let the boys who got us there see it through, he will get his chance to bring us back there next season.

Bennett went back and dominated the OHL. If the Fronts get swept he will have 15 games of action and possibly 3 NHL regular season games.

I haven't problem with him taking one of Raymond, Jooris, Colborne, Granlund's spot for a couple games. If he doesn't work out send him to the AHL. He brings so much skill and speed to the lineup. His style of play is exactly what the team needs and he can inject some life in the lineup.

He doesn't have to be in the top 6 but bringing him in would be a good move.

I believe Bennett plays in an NHL game this year no matter what, assuming North Bay kicks Kingston to the curb here.

He's been a good soldier and done his time and everything management asked of him by going back to junior, I think Treliving rewards him by giving him his first game in the show this year. He might not play in the LA or Winnipeg games and I'm sure they'll work it so that there's no way he exceeds his ELC limit between the last bit of the regular season and playoffs first round but he'll play.

Playing his first games in the playoffs didn't seem to harm Jarome Iginla whatsoever.

So, for those watching...how is North Bay able to shut Bennett down so completely?

The guy rips the OHL to pieces since returning, yet now this team has kept him at bay for 2+ games now.

Haven't really watched but it sounds like the North Bay goalie has been stealing games. Or at least he stole this one, 46 saves on 47 shots.

North Bay wins 3-1. Lead the series 3-0

Game 4 on Thursday. Could be Bennett's last major junior game.

Oh I would probably die of happiness if they get swept and Bennett joined the Flames vs Edmonton and lit the greasers up.

Alright, so it will either be an epic OHL comeback, or we could see Bennett in Calgary by next week.
