This is why nobody has any sympathy for Leaf fans. At least up in Edmonton they've finally come to grips with their no goodness and accept that they're just a bad team. Leaf fans keep up the delusion that their team really is good and just isn't getting the bounces for some reason, when the exact same situation has played out for several years now. The Leafs are the perfect example of a rotten core, when you build a team around incomplete players like Phaneuf and Kessel you're just not going to find any success

For shame, this thread made it to page 2. The Leafs are now winless in 11 straight. That is definitely Edmonton calibre no goodness.

I don't understand how saying Toronto has more talent than Buffalo makes me a delusional fan, Have you compared the rosters?

Losing 20 in a row seems highly likely with the combination of obvious tanking and an indifferent roster. Catching Buffalo in theory is not possible since they'll be tanking as hard too, but getting into the bottom 2 is very possible. Either way franchise is a disgrace and will ruin McDavid or Eichel anyways. Toronto is simply Edmonton East, a culture of losing and a city of annoying fans.

Before I slag on Leafs fans, I refrain from being hypocritical as I believe Burke was responsible for most of that mess. Admittedly, I was absolutely scared s***less when he was hired. Thank the gods for Treliving and Burke taking a backseat role.

My thoughts exactly.... That Toronto team is Burke's baby all the way!! Hopefully Treliving has control of the ship!

He was fired 2 years ago. It has been more than 2.5 years since his last roster move with the leafs. It has been nearly 3 years since his last game managing that team. The leafs are 100% Nonis's team now. He's had over 700 days to shape the roster, he obviously likes/liked the constitution of the team, liked most of the players Burke brought in. Also, while Burke may have failed in Toronto, the thing is.... everybody fails in Toronto. The rest of Burke's body of work ranges from above average to spectacular. I'm willing to give Burke a pass in TO because it's an impossible mess due to corporate meddling/insane media.

I'd rather have Faulk than any 3 Leaf blue liners. Murphy is also more likely than Gardiner/Rielly to become a complete player.

Whether as trade value or to have on your team, I'd rather have the Staals than not.

Lindholm is 4 years younger than Kadri and has a higher ceiling.

Semin is a boat anchor. More/less a toss up with Clarkson.

Ward and Khudobin are a downgrade from Bernier/Reimer, although one of them has won several playoff series and has a ring...

I suppose JVR is the only guy without much of an equivalent...Carolina has a ton of guys under 25 on their way though.

Both teams are no good today. IMO Carolina will be back in the playoffs before Toronto.

That's insane. Skinner might as well be older with all his concussions. Kessel will likely play longer and is clearly better. Skinner has completely levelled-off. He is on pace for less than 40 points. This is one case where the 5 years in age means nothing.

And you're terribly underrating Morgan Rielly. No one would take Murphy over him.

And Jordan Staal's trade value is 0 btw with that contract.

Nice, the leafs are barely better then bottom feeders Carolina.

However, the past 11 games don't look so great on the leafs. And what prospects at all do you even have besides Nylander.
