I just want to get in on the Tracy Chapman love. Most people have "Fast Car" somewhere in their music collection. But even I was shocked the other day when I checked how many of her songs I have on my phone... 31 songs which is over 2 hours of her music.

I love the newest Jimmy Cliff album, produced by Tim Armstrong of Rancid. He does a killer cover of Ruby Soho (originally by Rancid) and Guns of Brixton. The standout song on the album is an original called Reggae Music. The album was recorded on vintage 60s sound equipment, and the old-school sound really stands out.

Haunting and beautiful. Appropriated by Peter Gabriel and Delerium, the simple version is still the best.
