First paragraph of the most recent post in there:

A Vaccine Apocalypse is in progress Now in
America. This is a war, started centuries ago and continues today because
Americans have no education in the history of vaccines or the nature of medical
tyranny.

And that is the anti-vaccination movement in a nutshell. A very simple challenge and the argument just falls apart - in under 2 minutes.

We got the see the typical responses of "there are two sides", followed by the always popular "bullying". And then a touch of "big pharma" before finally conceding that it is all really just a conspiracy.

It isn't bullying or a conspiracy when something doesn't stand up to scientific scrutiny.

You can put evidence in the faces of deniers, this goes for all kinds of denial, these people will now become more confident in their position.

Vaccine deniers are the same as 9/11 and conspiracy truthers. No evidence based on science or numbers will convince them.

How many people get vaccines with no side effects? millions, billions. But one parent gets a kid who triggers to autism or a nut allergy and they look for the easiest cause which is vaccination.

Personally, and I can't believe I'm saying it, if your kid is not vaccinated then he or she can't go to school in a public setting. A disease like measles is extremely easy to catch. And while its basic run isn't severe the complications can be. Its pretty deadly to adults more then kids.

There's a reason why vaccines were developed for a lot of these diseases, because they're far more serious then the cold or the flu.

Hey I don't see that your kid had any immunization? Better go buy some text books and get to home schooling.

I'm curious to know how much business at Disney Land was hurt because of it being ground zero for the latest measles outbreak.

If it's significant, does ABC can Jenny McCarthy et al?

ABC and Disney Land are owned by the same corporation.

McCarthy has not been on The View since last summer.

Not that you lose any points for not knowing that...

Just found out tonight that my brother hasn't vaccinated his children for a lot of things, as well as my cousin and her kids.

It's like finding out your family doesn't believe in evolution. I'm so disappointed.

I've gotten to the point where I turn off my filter for people who give me bull#### arguments why they won't vaccinate themselves or their kids. They've heard all the arguments, all the reasonable people who tried to talk some sense into them (you can tell which ones have been subjected to this and which ones haven't by how headstrong they are in their stupidity). If they're one of those veteran anti-vaxxers, I usually just nonchalantly say "Oh, so you're a ####ing idiot then?"

Well, hi puppet account, but just because you and people you know (awesome sample size I'm sure) doesn't mean people don't suffer and die, especially kids...

From the CDC:

Complications
Measles can be a serious in all age groups. However, children younger than 5 years of age and adults older than 20 years of age are more likely to suffer from measles complications.

Common Complications

Common measles complications include ear infections and diarrhea.

Ear infections occur in about one out of every 10 children with measles and can result in permanent hearing loss.
Diarrhea is reported in less than one out of 10 people with measles.
Severe Complications

Some people may suffer from severe complications, such as pneumonia (infection of the lungs) and encephalitis (swelling of the brain). They may need to be hospitalized and could die.

As many as one out of every 20 children with measles gets pneumonia, the most common cause of death from measles in young children.
About one child out of every 1,000 who get measles will develop encephalitis (swelling of the brain) that can lead to convulsions and can leave the child deaf or mentally ######ed.
For every 1,000 children who get measles, one or two will die from it.
Measles may cause pregnant woman to give birth prematurely, or have a low-birth-weight baby.

Long-term Complications

Subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE) is a very rare, but fatal disease of the central nervous system that results from a measles virus infection acquired earlier in life. SSPE generally develops 7 to 10 years after a person has measles, even though the person seems to have fully recovered from the illness. Since measles was eliminated in 2000, SSPE is rarely reported in the United States.

Among people who contracted measles during the resurgence in the United States in 1989 to 1991, 4 to 11 out of every 100,000 were estimated to be at risk for developing SSPE. The risk of developing SSPE may be higher for a person who gets measles before they are two years of age.

Not a sock-puppet. If you want to get vaccinated, go for it. I'm not stopping you or persuading you not to. If you're all vaxxed up, you have nothing to worry about. Correct?

I'm not going to explain it but I suggest you do some reading and learn about vaccine effectiveness, the role of herd immunity, what ages vaccines for various diseases can be given, complications from getting a disease etc etc etc.

Once you've brushed up on that you'll either realize why what you're saying is, quite frankly, completely ridiculous or maybe you won't in which case there will be little cause for anyone to respond to you again. Either way we win.

I'm glad my kids go to a school that they are not allowed to set foot in until we prove they are up to date on their vaccines. Of course (not bragging) it is a private school and every doctor in the area sends their kids to it so perhaps that has something to so with it. Speaking of the US I fail to see the issue of mandatory vaccination for a populace when someone trying to immigrate or get a greencard has to have mandatory vaccination.

What about people who can't be vaccinated because they have compromised immunity? Or babies? Critical thinking isn't your forte. Every single anti vaccine idiot out there deserves ridicule and derision.

I get my flu shots so people like my dad and other old folks in the home don't get sick and potentially die. But by all means think only of yourself and do nothing to the betterment of the health of the elderly, young, immunocompromised, and most vulnerable in our society.
