Ferland has the potential to be a brand new Brouwer and Neal.

Same salary range as Brodie. It's not the first time Kreiders been linked. Also makes sense as it seems the Flames are intent to move a dman cap space to the fe spot.

That sounds like an iron-clad plan.

Even the rumoured 4x4 would be amazing. If Connolly gets 3.5, 4 for Ferland seems fair

I want no part of Ferland at 4 mil, not saying the market doesn't support that, but rather, not interested in an oft-injured player who goes through major major dry spells for that kind of cash

Lots of space on the right side, especially if/when Frolik gets moved. I'd love to see him on a line with Tkachuk, especially now that after the trade we've seen Ferland can put up the same numbers while not playing with Gaudreau, which was a main concern of mine when Ferland was still here.

Ferland at a 'hometown discount' would be nice. I could see him wanting to come back.

Wouldn't hurt to put out a super low, short term offer in case he finds the market is dry.

Depends if it's playoffs vs. the Canucks Ferland, or decided to be a points-getter-instead-of-grinder Ferland. He did his best and was most productive when he'd play the body and go to the dirty areas and piss people off... Last year he didn't look like he had that same drive.

And of those 3. Ferland missed more games to concussion than the other two combined. You're buying a soft shell on the verge of breaking completely. Not a risk worth taking.

Ok, I get it. If that’s the case, I’d like to see Backs go to the 3rd line and create a genuine checking line....which would mean getting Kadri to centre that second line.
Chucky - Kadri - Ferland...May/May not work but it’d be fun to watch.
You’d have to move Brodie and Frolik to get that under the cap though...and have Kadri not nix the deal

Speaking of Neal, any league wide capspace that was available to move out that contract is drying up VERY quickly.
The lack of flames rumours right now is increasingly troubling.
